fox body tire problem

Question fox body tire problem

i have a 87' LX Convertible and stock the tires are 225/60/15 i want to go to a 245/40/17 pretty much i want 17's and the ability to have a wider tire. please help me out on what i need to do...thanks

i have a 93 notch with 245/45/17's with no problems. they are the stock wheels and tires of my 04 gt.

Buy a set of 17x8 wheels that fit your car and mount up a set of 245/45r17's of your choice. That's it.

I have PonyR's with Eagle ZR's in that combination on my 93 and it works just fine.

i have been told anything more than 225 and im rubbin and its not gonna work... are you guys sure i didnt think they made a change between 87 and 93 but im not an expert but where i work we have a nice set of 245/45R17's and they would look bad *** on the car. stock its 225/60R15 so 245 and 17's is a big jump. just wanna make sure before i buy them

87 does have a smaller inner fender but i would think the only thing that would rub it the lower controll arm.
