Trial and error. they really are a paint in the ***. In fact, in order to get mine to work with my stock pony center caps i had to use some cutters and trim down the plastic pegs on the top of the cap. The first one went in fine, but the other 3 i had to trim that to keep the caps from popping out when i tightened the spinners.
give yourself a couple hours to do this. it might go real smooth, or it might be a real pain.

Yea they are a pain but once you figure it out they are pretty simple.
