wheel questions

hey all. i'm lookin into getting some new wheels for my 2001 V6, and i was wondering which of these wheel sizes are better for performance....17x8, 17x9, or 18x9. any adivse would be great, thanks.

Smaller rim diameter the better for the most part, not too sure if the 17x8 would yield much better results then 17x9's, ESPECIALLY if you're putting street tires on them. If you're going for pure race, get some 15's
