So them on AM and I'm wondering if they are any good? If they aren't whats a good brand to go with for S197's?

Good brands?

BMR.....ummm BMR.

And then BMR.

I think you get the point.

I've heard bad things about Steeda's, and about the company in general (personally speaking).

J&M is good from the people who have bought them, but I think BMR is the best for the money. The make some of the best suspension parts on the market for S197's IMHO.

Alright. I just found out that BMR is indeed a good brand for s197s. Sooo... Whats the difference in control arms, bushin wise anyway. I know i want tubular because the car is a everyday driver. Why would I need adjustable ones?

BBK is a fine brand as is Steeda. Steeda just charges to much for their name. J&M sucks ass if you ask me. I have their subframe connectors and stainless front brake lines and I will not get another item from them. They fit like shit and I had to mod both of those products to make them work. I got them to work, but the quality sucks.

You don't need adjustable lowers for a DD. And for a daily driver you will want polyurethane bushings to help keep road noises down. Once you go over poly bushings it starts to get loud. And it seems like from what I can tell you want to keep this as DD as possible. So that's what I would recommend based on that.

Thanks 08mustang and spike.... I plan on turning this car into a track car sooner or later. I think I'm going to get another DD soon. Just depends on how much money I can save by Jan.

That's my eventual plan for my car as well. I need a semi-nice DD to take its place though.

Probably a 2011 GT. :D

Then I'll strip down the 08 and make it the factory team car.

Screw that I don't care how nice it is. I just want something reliable. I would like a old fox body for my dd though. That won't turn out well I'm sure though. I'll start trying to do all kinds of stuff to it.

I like the pieces from Currie more, as they have their Johnny Joints.

You don't need a upper control arm to be honest for what you do. Just get the lowers and you will be happy. If your looking for a cheap one that gets the job done.

Appreciate the information Spike but I was wanting to go with the BMR's and I was just trying to figure out why their was so much of a price difference in those 2 types. I think its because one has different bushings though. Thanks.

spike_africa 02-21-2010 08:19 PM

And their name adds to the price too. But they make good stuff so its your call on that.

SnTBakosFinest 02-21-2010 10:55 PM

Yea, uppers aren't needed..

BMR is great.

Edelbrock is also pretty good.

I'm not a huge fan of BBK...just me though I guess..
