If your 2011-2013 Mustang is starting to hit the mid-11s on the drag strip, pay attention to this installation!

The safety rules for NHRA require that any car that is running 11.49 or faster, or any car running slicks full time, have a drive shaft safety loop that will keep the drive shaft in the vehicle in the event of a failure. With Gotta Have It Race starting to hit the 11.50s more regularly, Bill and the Gotta Have Builds team thought it was time for this upgrade.

BMR Suspension designed this drive shaft safety loop to meet NHRA safety rules and for cheap insurance against what could otherwise be a catastrophic failure. The BMR Drive Shaft Safety Loop bolts on utilizing the existing holes from the transmission cross-member and comes with new Grade 8 hardware. While it comes in black hammerstone or red powdercoated finishes, the version used in Gotta Have It Race was custom powdercoated Gotta Have It Green to match.

In today’s installation video, Bill walks you through the installation process, which just uses basic hand tools and only takes an hour or so. If you use your 2011-2013 Mustang on the track, or just want to protect your investment, it will be an hour well spent.
