Angry God doesn't want me to have a mustang

This is unbelievable. Those of you who read my MONDAY?! thread know that my car was getting minor repairs done over the weekend. Well I just got it back last night, and then tonight I hit a deer!

I'm so pissed, this is my first car, it's a very nice car, it's less than 3 weeks old (to me), and now everyone that hears about it is going to think that I'm one of those kids that gets a nice car and then beats the **** out of it. Great.

As far as I can tell, it's going to need a new hood, bumper, grill, headlight, and passenger side fender/body panel (the piece in front of the door). Does anyone know if insurance will go up because of this? There was no way to avoid this thing, it was a huge buck and there was a car right behind me and a car to my left, so I just stomped on the brake but it wasn't enough (I hit it at about 45).

I'll go take some pictures and post them, this is so upsetting. Looks like it's right back to body shop with this one.

**** that sucks, I guess you can take advantage of the situation and get a different bumper and hood.

Damn dude sorry to hear about the Stang I hope its insured. And I hope you killed that freaking deer to. Your going to have to use your deductable if you reported it to the cops you might catch some slack from your insurance. Your premium is going to go up its unavoidable.

I was riding with one of my friends last year and a deer jumped into the side of his car. Well he got pissed, turned around, walked up to dear and just started beating the **** out of it. Then he took it and chucked it into the field beside the rode. I swear he looked like male gibson (or however you spell that) in the patriot when butchured the guy with the hatchet. It was the funniest thing I've ever saw.

Unfortunately I killed the **** out of it. My brother was in the passenger seat and he and the guy behind us told me that it went airborne and flew off into the darkness so far that they couldn't even see it. I can't believe insurance companies blame you for deer. They're completely unavoidable (esp. in VA) and in some situations there's absolutely nothing even the most skilled driver can do to avoid hitting them.

Yeah its unfortunite I got a chunk of median that got sent into my oil pan and insurance would have raised my premium if I reported it. Best thing is to use your deductable. Just hope its enough to use it. If you even have one. Problem is that your insurance is already high for being a teen with a sports car they are going to wach you closer now.

Wait, are you saying that if I didn't report it then my premium won't go up? Because I didn't report it (to the police I mean).

EDIT: Oh nevermind, you meant if you had reported it to the insurance company, not the police.

Dude you confused me..lol...if you dont report it to the insurance company your premium wont go up. But if you dont have the money to fix it yourself and you have a deductable then you can use it but your premium will go up.

But if you reported it to the cops and then to your insurance company then your insurance company might cut you some slack. It depends on you insurer and what your insured for.

Hopefully we won't have to notify the insurance company, because as you said, a teen with a sports car is enough already.

Are you sure? I think the pictures don't really do it justice, I need to take some better ones. The bumper will definitely need to be replaced, it's cracked badly in between the broken headlight and the grill. The grill has 2 holes in it, so it needs to be replaced. The headlight obviously needs to be replaced. The fender has been pushed back so the the gap between it and the front of the door is too small for the door to open. The hood has scrapes where the paint is flaking off and is the only thing that I'm not 100% sure needs to be replaced. I'm going right now to take better pictures, if anybody can give me an estimate I'd appreciate it so much.

I'd find a mach one grill cheap or used and tell them to install that while doing repairs. I need better pics. But its really doesnt look that bad

Default Better Pictures

Okay, my photography still sucks, but I managed to get some better pictures.

Broken headlight. Still works, but isn't firmly attached anymore.

Self explanatory.

Also no longer firmly attached on the passenger's side.

Hood scrape I was talking about (towards the bottom right). Do you think this can be fixed without replacing the whole hood?

Default More pics...

Passenger's side wheel well, notice the plastic just hanging there (obvious I know).

Here's the gap I was talking about. The fender moved back so that the front lip of the door hits the back lip of the fender.

Notice the difference between the driver's side hood/fender gap (above) and the passenger's side hood/fender gap (below).

I update my previous statement to $700-900 depending on where you go and if anything underneath is messed up

New bumper
New Grill
New passenger headlight
Hood just needs to be banged bake into shape and repainted
Fender needs to be banged back into place and painted

Like I said depending on damage underneath. Its not terrible but fixable but you will have to fork out some dough on this. Take it to a good shop for a better estament. In the meanwhile check out bumpers.com and look on ebay for a new headlight the more parts you find yourself cheaper the less you will pay because shops will charge a bit more for parts.

I hit a mexican driving a gold honda accord, in my mustang, nothing happened to the pony except the drivers side marker was broken, and we had one ready to replace it anyhow. His car, however, took a hit, his bumper pushed in, then out, and blew chips of his paint all over my car. It was obviousely a crappy respray, but this little thing cost me 450 dollars from a high end automotive shop. they do the best work i have ever seen and are highly recomended if you live in the area, which, no one does anyhow (Putnam Automotive) So yeah, a ****ing bumper cost me 450... on a honda... yeah, light hit too... (he was turning left from a right turn only area, and he moved ahead a little to take his left, then decided against it and slammed on the breaks as i was moving to go around to make my right... bastard.
Really dude, sorry about the mustang... God isnt saying that, he is merely testing your faith 0_^
Basically what i am saying is, a bumper cost me 450, this will cost a ****load.

Where in VA do you live? And what Insurance company do you have. I'm in Central VA in a town called Madison Heights, right beside Lynchburg. My whole family is under Nationwide and we all have full coverage. Talked to my mom about it the other day and hitting a deer should be covered in your insurance, it's an unavoidable situation.

I'm in Northern VA, and as of right now our insurance company isn't going to raise our premium. But it's going to take 2-3 weeks to repair, starting tomorrow afternoon.
