The problem with mustangs today....(rant)
There is an ever-increasing problem with the mustangs of today...they all look the same. Allow me to explain.
Aside from different colors, all mustangs throw on a chin spoiler, bullitt rims, and lower it, and call it a day. Where is the creativity? As much as we loathe springstang, deep down we like it because it's such a change from the ordinary. It's a look that will make us turn our heads as we drive by it.
It seems like the chin spoilers returning were like that of Christ's return...one that everyone is so joyous about and flocks to them.... but unlike Christ...EVERYONE AND THEIR MOM HAS A CHIN SPOILER. I'm not diggin those who have chin spoilers. But dont throw it on and then drive your mustang with one hand on the 12 o'clock position with your windows down and cap on sideways like you're the junk. Throw forced induction into your car THEN you can ride with pride. Worried that people won't know that you have a supercharger? Here's a general rule: The people that care...will know that you have one. The people that can't tell that you have one...probably won't care
We need more people like springstang. Not necessarily getting a bright colored car and accent it with black and other accessories...but rather, be different. Stand out. Take a chance. SAI has a killer paint job that NOBODY on this site(or most other sites) has...PLUS a turbo...which is EXTREMELY rare.
I'm not saying you need to spend thousands of dollars on a turbo and paintjob just to stand out. But I am saying that when you throw ss inserts, DD bullitts, and a chin spoiler on...you are not, I repeat NOT the car of the century. get dramatic! Throw on a cobra R hood, saleen bumpers, and fr500 rims. Sure its different, but you will get more looks and stares than if you throw on some DD bullitts and lower it. The problem with bullitts, chin spoiler, and lowering the car is the following:
A) Nobody notices the lowering except mustang owners.
Even mustang owners might not even notice that the car is lowered. You will, and a few forum members will, but most others won't. Take a drive out on the road and compare other cars' wheel well and tire height and see how close they are. Not every car is such a monster truck from the factory
b) Bullitts are nothing special to non-mustang members.
First off, they dont stand out. If anythingt, MY rims stand out more bc theyre not as common as bullitts. Not saying that my rims look better, but you see less of my rims on the road. It's just a fact. The fr500's are dramatic, without being a fashion wreck. Give them a try. How about cobra r's? Or the 35th anniv cobras. saleen rims are also VERY nice on pretty much any car and stand out to non-mustang members. We all want our cars to catch the attention of mustang AND non-mustang owners alike.
c) nobody notices/cares about chin spoilers.
They came with the mach 1's. Sure they look nice, but on an already lowered car, any non-mustang member would look right past it. Especially those who paint them the color of the car. It defeats the whole purpose of getting it to begin with. Now get a cobra bumper...or a saleen one...THEN watch the heads turn.
Now what do you do to remedy this?
Well, first off, choose a nice set of rims. Chrome stands out, but black is just as nice...just dont get a style thats too common. Sure bullitts are nice(I'm not saying they aren't) but my grandmother would have bullitts if she owned a mustang.
Secondly, get a creative hood. Whether it be cowl, carbon fiber, cobra R...most mustang owners stick with their stock hoods forever. Why not make it snazzy? You want your car to stand out from all angles. And if you are in someone's rear view mirror..and they can't see your nice rims, you gotta give them somethin to look at. And since you car will probably be lowered, they likely won't notice your bumper(if it's been changed)
Thirdly, get a coor scheme. Whether dark on light, light on light(least popular, and least good looking), or dark on dark. If your car is dark, and youdont want dark on dark, get chrome rims. They will certainly stand out and nicely compliment your body color. But stay consistent. If you get black rims, try and stick with black inserts, black hood decal, black gascap, etc. It's not required, but a nice color scheme will be VERY noticeable, even to non-mustang members.
These 3 criteria...if done correctly, will dramatically improve your car's appearnace, and incrase the number of stares you get. You may also add a new bumper, lowering springs and such, but they wont be as noticeable as if these 3 things are done.

Ohhhhhhhh Damn I have to disagree on most of that.Let me see a DSG with black bullits, black spoiler, chin spoiler,SS inserts, tail light tint, lowered, window tint, full exhaust, gears etc in no way looks stock.I'm not saying mine is the BEST but it does look nice and it get's alot of attention.
On a daily basis I have some stranger tell me nice car.It does not depend on how much money you have spent on it.It's the way you pull off what you are trying to do that makes a difference.I remember when I asked everyone if they thought black Bullits would look good on my car and almost everyone said chrome but trying to be different I went with black.
I have to agree SAI's car is badass and I like Orangstang's and yours too Springs and I think yours would have looked better with Black Bullits (kinda looks like spares )
Everyone does'nt have the money to spend on new bumpers and hoods like some people can and others would rather have the power before changing anything on the outside. For not being able to notice that a Stang has been lowered PLEASE even people who don't like Mustangs notice that.
Also why bash Bullits?Yes you see them alot but there are alot of Stangs in my area and very few with DD.Everyone notices DD wheels and the lip they have.If they did'nt look so good they would'nt be so popular.
So mostly I'm saying so yes even though I have'nt changed everything yet, sometimes less is more and it depends on how you pull it off instead of how much money you have spent. And oh by the way I've spent a little over $3000 now since I bought my Stang and it's all been my money LOL

who cares what people do to their mustangs...
personally id rather people make the popular mods than to rice out a stang to be different...
The fact is that those mods look good...
I do like stangs like springstang's tho... if ya notice... in the "coolest lookin stang" contest hes doin almost the best...

Danny, WTF are you even rattling on about?
Hell dude, a good paint job and a good wax on a mustang will almost always turn some heads and get a thumbs up. As far as chinspoilers, dropping it, inserts, yeah, none of that stuff stands out, and im glad for that.
The last thing i want is some F&F looking car. My ride is a mustang, i want to keep it a mustang, and all the little touches i do to it make it look far more impressive, not because they stand out and scream LOOK AT ME, it is because they dont dominate and really do alot for the general appearance, they compliment eachother.
Also, Dude, Honestly, i could give two ****s less what the average jackass thinks of my car. I get thumbs up and props all the time, but i dont do it for that. I do it for ME and ME alone. I never sat there and looked at a body kit or a supercharger thinking it will validate me, i look at that stuff cause i like the way it looks, for me. So what if grandma doesent know it is lowered? So what if bob the butcher doesent notice i dont have a grill.
Dude, who cares?
All mustangs look the same cause they are all stamped out at the same factory.
Personally, i have to disagree with you saying they all look the same, and i also disagree with your reccommendation to go get a body kit on it. Come on paul walker, you have a mustang GT, be proud of it, dont get a cobra bumper or a saleen bumper cause it aint a cobra or saleen. Hell, i think Springsstang shoulda gotten stock replacements, but i gotta say even with the cobra bumper it still is very much a GT when you look at it,, he did a good job keping it true.
so, all in all, i really dont think i understand what you are saying or why it bothers you

[QUOTE=SpringsStang]yeah mister i have a fast *** cobra with an intercooler
I think you are referring to the front of my car, it's called a Heat Exchanger, not an Intercooler (which sits under the blower)

Last dyno was in April @Coastal Dyno in Tampa (Sam is THE MAN)
461RWHP/480RWTQ
Trying to decide if I want to port the Eaton or go Whipple, either way, a new MAF, tune, metco 4 or 6# lower, BAP, and Accufab TB/Plenn are going to happen early 2006.
I'm more interested in putting the current power to ground right now.

Im thinking of that route moreso than the whipple, but i may change my mind from now until Feb-March....my friend is trying to talk me into a KB.
Then again, my other Cobra friend is trying to talk me into porting and spraying lol he has a ported blower and sprays a 60 shot, it's insanely fast.
