Default 1995 3.8L V6 swap to 5.0L V8

Hello all. I am the owner of a 95 V6 3.8L Mustang and am curious if anyone here has done a swap to a 5.0L? I know there's alot involved, but was just wondering if anyone's had the experience of actually doing one. I am in serious debate about what to do with my car once she quits runnin on me. She's got 179,500 miles on the V6 engine, and am pretty sure that she'll die on me here before too long. Engine is strong, tranny's strong, but I know that the engine is not going to last. I was thinking of swapping to a 5.0, but the amount of work involved, is it really worth it? Would it be best to just sell mine for what I can get out of it and go buy a GT or Cobra? I really love my car, but since I want a 5.0, don't know what to do!

i'm not sure about the 5L but we've got a great thread on a swap to the 5.4L, i think it's under the 4.6 tech section.

never had experience with it, i know it can be done, but it'll be pricey, not only do you ahve to get the engine, but the mounts, the tranny to fit it, the exhaust to fit it, electronic stuff, ect.

You'd be better off just selling the car, and buying a 5.0

Yeah it would be better off to just buy into the 5.0...but even then the newest you can get is the 98 right? They quit the 5.0 in the 98 model?

Nope, 95 was the last year of the 5.0. In 96, they went to the modular 4.6
