Default Exhaust Question

I have a 2002 Gt convert and want to upgrade the exhaust. No plans on making this car a high performance car and just want a nice sound to the exhaust. The question is should I just install some Flowmaster 40's and keep the standard pipes or do something different? I am not knowledgable on the upgrades. What other option would your recommend?

SEARCH... but yeah you have a pretty specific ? so I'll play nice...

depends on how loud you want it. NO FLOWMASTERS. they sound great outside and shake your nuts off inside. I'd go to something like a bassani X pipe and Bassani cat back or magnaflow or borla XP catback. The bassani catback comes with real mufflers but they're clean sounding and plenty loud. The magnaflow's and borla's are straight through and get a little more raspy.

you can substitute an H pipe for the X pipe if you like the rumbly sound. Most any catted H pipe is suitable. Stay with 2.5" tubing all the way back.

As already stated the flowmasters sound good outside but are much louder inside the car than others. Before I got longtubes I had mac x pipe (no cats) and magnaflow catback. Sounded nice when accelerating but only slightly louder than stock during idle and crusing speeds.

If you want to be able to talk inside your car but still have a rumble outside I would get SLP powerflo catback and leave your factory Hpipe if you want it a bit more noise then add an Hpipe. You cant expect to be super loud and quiet at the same time with 99% of exhausts. My brother and I think its too low but thats the beauty of it all, as you can tell from the vids it is not low at all. https://mustangboards.com/exhaust-vi...flo-01-gt.html
