Also what is the performance of a saleen? the non s/c one anywayz, and whats diffrent between them and a gt. besides body?

Im just guessing..but..I think the NON superchargers saleens just have a better intake....(not manifold)....um..a better ehaust..and and upgraded suspension..? and um maybe they come with 3.55 rear gear as well I believe....

 

You can call Saleen and ask for verification if its authentic.

 

They get full exhaust,intake filter,UD pulleys,Tune,gears,shifter,full suspension,and i know of the 99-04 modles you can or its standerd to get a 6speed. I used to detail my fathers freinds 01 silver vert saleen S281 its was a monster of power even without that blower on there. They are truly beautiful cars with plenty of power for a daily driver.

To tell if its real you would need to see it in person if the vin cant be traced back to saleen. They came with specail numbers plates on a few spots that you can search for.

 

The non supercharged is really not much if any faster than a GT. I love the look of saleens but dont want to pay the price for one.

 

the one i found really isn't that expensive, its has 28371 miles. and its cheaper than a 03 vert with 40k on it..

His first e-mail said it was his fathers, he died gave it to him. he is in the army and wants quick cash, and does want the car anymore. Thats what he siad anyways.

yea i'd be leaning towards fake too. i'd imagine a real saleen would be in teh 25k or so price range...seeing that they're a 40-50k car new. eh, and if it is a fake, and it looks good, ya got a faleen that looks good for not too bad of a price.

and that price range above is just a guess, so don't hold me to it.

Could be a fake one way to tell if you look at bumpers and if they are fiberglass its fake but they could of purchased bumpers from Saleen if its urethane. Its too cheap to be a real Saleen I would see the car first with a list of must haves like what number is it and can you find someone online that has it registered with that number of same year.

 

WOW, i just contacted Saleen, and soo far the guy has been right. The car has been untitled for 7 months. and it is a real Saleen. Bumper#: 02-0613. That is just wierd. now all i don't trust is the price, but it is a real Saleen

 

Since when is a car with UD pulleys, cat back exhaust, and a crappy tune fully bolted? Because that is basically what the performance mods of a non-sc saleen.

 

I know of this scam... don't do it without touching the car first. you'll be sorry. The same sort of bullcrap scammer tried to do that with a 03 cobra motor a year ago on craigslist. he got a bunch of guys. pictures numbers the works. If he says western union call the cops. Definitely do NOT send money. Bring money if you're serious.

In any case you'd be a goob not to call saleen. the bolt on's are good for maybe 10-15hp but the cool factor on a real one has a way of hanging on.

 

The ones i have seen all came with ud pulleys,tune,filter,full exhaust,and gears with a short shifter. Thats a pretty much full bolt on car. And it was damn quick. But i have only seen under the hood of 2 real ones. Where can we get the real specs on the car?

 

Yeah i'd go with a No. Should always test drive the car before you buy it, and look it over in real life. I was ripped pretty bad with my first car, but thats a long story. Honestly, think of it as a 10 thousand dollar bet in poker. Your gunna have to play the cards your dealt, whether they are good or bad. If that makes any sense..

With that price and the low miles its definalty a fake. It should sell for a little over 20,000 with that many miles and if it was real.

 

there's a saleen in town at a local dealership (non ford dealership), it's an 02, non-s/c, 13000 miles, for $17,998. all numbers are on the car from what i can tell, just kinda curious if it'd be worth it since most of ya'll are sayin' it's basically a bolt-on GT.
