yep... well, sorta.

I went out yesterday and got a real 2000 cobra R wing (from a real R!) for 50 bucks and my stock wing. Guy was hard up for cash I guess.

I've already stripped the clear coat off and given it a coating of high temp semi-gloss black. I'll be drilling holes and mounting it later today if I can get a hole in the rain.

So, start haranging on me for using a giant wing... at least it works and I'll actually race the car in a place where the wing is useful to me.

I'll have pics as soon as it's mounted. I'm hoping to finish by tonight. I hate the wingless look on my car.

I think the R wing will look pretty good. It only looks bad when people over do it. Now I'll definitely notice when r3dn3ck is driving around.

They are pretty gay if you install one for the sole purpose of trying to make your car look cool.....now if you actually inted to use it like r3d...it's pretty sweet...

if it's any consolation... it looks REALLY good to me (it's mounted now... pics coming). Only my wings and scoops are primer black (it's not actually primer... it's flat black enamel with a semi-textured flat clear protector coat).

I had to drill a couple holes but I did it slow and right and in the rain. My wife likes it too which was kinda surprising. Pics coming in a couple hours.

I think it actually looks pretty damn good. I don't mind the black. It works with the rest of the car. I'm sure people will laugh at first when they see it on the streets, but once that 5.4l is in it and you spank them,they will be thinking differently. Looks good r3d.

Greg... the wing is painted.... black. If you mean body color... hellz no. I'm going to give a couple more coats of black to the hood scoop tbough.

And... there may just be a blower for my 5.4 in my future. Maybe... We'll see. I'm calling MMR today to schedule shipping of my block/crank/heads. Finally got enough money to get the assembly underway. Stoked!

IMO i dont like the flat black look, i think it would look better painted the same color as your car or atleast a shiny black. Oh you may want to look into putting your front passenger side center cap back on your wheel.

It doesn't look that bad, but the sidescoops look grossly out of place, if you painted them the color of your car and same with the legs for the spoiler, it would look pretty clean...some black saleens would go well with that, too

 

I've tossed around the idea of having the wing and scoops painted but I painted them black for a reason so it seems kinda a waste to undo that. The hood scoop and wing were all the time blinding me with glare on summer days. If there's one thing I can't stand it's not being able to see while driving... so I flat black-ed em and that's not been an issue since. I did the side scoops to match the hood scoop and wing... make something of a theme.

No bother though... I'm happy with how it looks and it seems to scatter road spray in a way that cars behind me don't like so they've been backed off in the rain... it's kinda nice.

And yes... I know about the center cap. A tire tech split it in half like a year ago and I haven't found a set cheap enough to buy.

 

if it were an inch and half shorter id say that would be better just a little 2 high for me.

flat black gives it a primer look...

 

wing looks good, but im gonna have to agree with everyone else, flat black can be badass..on crazy lifted toyotas and old school hot rods...but on a new edge mustang, it just dont work..atleast gloss em
