How about we have a contest called, "everyone who complained about this one is automatically disqualified?"

Please see the few posts where people actually UNDERSTAND that this not necessarily about being a graphic designer. It's about having fun and being creative.

Sheesh. I'm starting to re-think the whole idea of contests. Doesn't seem like anyone will ever be happy.

i already am disqualified. im on a 400mhz laptop with no image editing software, and dont have the ram to run any or edit it. i also have no mouse so my movement with the mousepad will look like a 3 year olds drawing. you DO HAVE to have some sort of comprehention of image editing software because, lets face it, you arent winning this contest with ms paint.

of course im not happy with this, after all, it was MY idea to get another contest running. who wants to be excluded from the contest they helped get up and running? I sure dont, and thats the case. it was always equal among members so everyone can participate and its pretty clear im out of this one as well with other members. no one complained about the other ones...

Well, sorry to be such a disappointment :P

And no one said you were disqualified. I think you're missing the whole point. I'm not looking for perfection, buddy. I'm looking for something that makes me laugh and shows me that the creator has a sense of humor.

I'm not perfect and shiny. Why should my signature be?

I know you arent looking for perfection but im pretty sure the guy who wins the contest isnt going to hand-draw your entire signature in MS Paint even if its the funniest signature posted.

The whole point of previous contests were that they were 100% equal across the board and everyone was elidgible who met basic requirements, and I feel as if this contests goes against that.

Well, my suggestion, then, is to make a suggestion the next time I ask for input.

For the record, you have NO idea who I will choose to win. I happen to like the handdrawn MS Paint signatures I've gotten.

I'm done talking about this. I'm sorry you don't like it, but everyone will just have to move on. We're giving away free stuff. Free. As in, you don't have to pay for it. With all this complaining, I'm not really motivated to give away more.

Buck up, little man. There'll be other contests.

As for this contest being fair? I think it's plenty fair. You're working on the assumption that I'm going to choose one that's done by someone with photoshop skills. And okay, I might. But I also might choose one done in Paint, with stick figures. Because it's creative and fun and at least they TRIED.

You can't say it's unfair if you never even try...

~Emilie
It's still unfair. Now your almost obligated to pick someone that makes stick figures. Because, if you don't... then my point is proven..HA.

First of all, I'm not obligated to do a damn thing. I'll pick the one that I like best, whether it's stick figures or otherwise.

And, if you're so opposed to this contest, I'll be happy to withdraw both yours and MattJs entries. Just say the word.

Im just expressing my feelings about this contest, and the feeling of the otherz that have contacted me about it. I speak for the people.

Why don't you download a free trial of photoshop from adobe.com and try it? I'm a photographer and while my photoshop skills are less than stellar, I've always gotten by just fine with my laptop....

I'm just sayin. People are making excuses for their complaining. If people have a problem with this contest, then step up and say it yourself. Or, PM me. Or email me.

Better yet, give me suggestions for future contests. If I have another one.

ugh.

i think it's funny that it's the senior members that are complaining about this the most and are trying to spoil it for the rest of us.

It's simple: go download the program from isohunt dot com and learn it. We all had to start somewhere. People need to stop pissing off amemilie, especially since this is her contest. Everyone was wondering when the next contest would be, and now that it's here, you're too lazy to try and put in some effort. Regardless of what program you have access to or what your artistic abiliy is, (usually) every computer comes with some sort of program you can use to draw/edit pictures.

Jack doesn't have access to Photoshop, and yet he still submitted a picture for the contest using MS Paint. The point isn't whether you're artistically inclined, it's how creative you can be using limited resources.
