Default Anyone use Hankook or Sumitomo

Looking at either these Hankooks:
http://www.discounttire.com/dtcs/fin...0&ct=&rf=false

Or these Sumitomo's:
http://www.americanmuscle.com/sumito...275-40-17.html

Anyone have expereince with either one by chance? I am going to sadlyt be Drag radial less on the street for awhile. But i am trying ot get some slicks for my v6 wheels so we will see how that works out.

I'm pretty sure Lance had the sumitomo's on his GT. I had the regular sumitomo HTRZ's, not the HTRZII's, and they sucked *****. No traction at all, but I believe the HTRZII's are a substantial improvement over what I had.

Just from comparing the two, I would lean towards the Hankooks because they have a tread rating of 280 and the Sumitomo's have a tread rating of 220. Call me crazy, but its little things like that that sway my decision. The Hankooks also look to have a wider tread pattern as well which would allow them to cut through water (rain) a bit better than the sumitomo, but the picture could just be decieving.

Dustin:
I had these Sumis on my car when I bought. They were used. They seemed fine, but I thought the thread pattern looked goofy.

Yeah i think they look a bit weird too, im thinking the Hankooks are the way to go. I just need a decent 275 wide tire to last me a year and a few months.

Get the Kuhmo Supra 712's from tire rack. They are much cheaper....I'm running them on my fronts rears for now. Haven't ran them with the nitrous but they are much better than my last street tire.

I'm on my second set of Hankook's that same tire but 275/35/18 and the treadwear is great, I have nothin but good things to say about them.
