Just curious..... which car is faster in stock form, a 2001 Svt Cobra or a 2004 Mach 1? Both 5 speeds, same mileage, and considering both drivers are of equal skill. Which one would straight up win. I hear the early New Edge style Cobras aren't all that, is why I ask.

 

the mach would win on any improved track. The cobra would have an edge on the street (oddly) thanks to the IRS. Every mach I've ever seen has made more hp and tq in stock form than the 01 cobras in stock form... around 10-20hp more. Even if you neutral out the rear end issues... machs still seem a bit stronger.

 

Oh no not this again! ha ha. There are some fast 01 cobra's around, but I'd still take a mach over a 99-01 Cobra any day....I'm not biased or anything

 

I would defanitely take a mach over a 99-01 cobra. They look a lot better and I've also heard that the cobras for those years had a higher horsepower rating then there actually was. Not to put down a cobra or anything.

 

99 cobras were overrated, dynos proved it. 01's made the power they were rated at... barely but at the wheels it was <280hp on average (from dyno's I was there for). Machs were coming out of the box putting down 290+ meaning they were underrated from the factory. Mach1 FTW.

I would take the Mach 1 over the Cobra.

Drivers race for the most part, but I'd bet on the Mach.
