I'm gonna guess no, it can't be any more than 60lbs.

Its pretty solid internally but its not something you need a lift for. You will need an extra set of arms to help hold or wiggle but its pretty straight forward and not heavy. you could probably get away if you have a nice floor jack.

Just put a jack under it. You will probably have to have someone hold it though while you pull it out and let it down

I hope he has engine mounts because trans mounts arent going to hold that 1.5l of AZN fury in place.

haha what a thought... Tranny holds engine in place...

I really get a kick out of all these false suggestions or advice that comes from this site... lol

when i changed the clutch in my friends car there were 2 mounts on the engine side and 2 on the tranny side....you take the transmission mounts out and the trans mission also and that leaves the engine hanging in the middle with no support causing stress on the engine mounts

in the pic..the red circles are the mounts and the blue is the transmission..what will happen to the engine if u take away the transmission and the passenger side tranny mounts? the engine will start to lean towards the center of the engine bay causeing stress on the motor mounts..

When I was a younger man, I pulled my muncie 4 spd out by myself with only jackstands holding the front end up. replaced clutch, pressure plate, etc.. Put tranny back in, with little more than inches of elbow room. I wouldn't recommend doing that, but I was in a hurry to get my 79 Z-28 back on the road again. This was in the early 80's and I used to be able to bench 200+.

It was not a fun experience but not impossible to do. A lift and a tranny jack will make for a better quality clutch change. Keeping it lined up without those is a real bitch no matter how cocky you feel..
