Default Purestang bumper gap...look inside

Here is an example of the problem you are going to have so you can actually see how bad it looks. I posted these pics in a thread back when I started my make over because I was going to get the Cobra hood also. This changed my mind.

That bumper is sagging because the brackets are broken, not because of the design of the bumper.

I ahev teh same problem on mine. One bracket was broken initially due to the previous owner getting tapped, then the other side just broke on it's own. I have not bothered getting them fixed. My gap is not as noticeable because my car is black. But, I can easily lift up on my bumper and push it right into place about a full inch.

Wierd, I went to highschool with that guy, we had the only two 99-04 gen mustangs in the school. Where did you find that picture? BTW I gave him a really hard time about it when he got it done to and really there isnt anything wrong with the way its installed it just looks like that, and has since he got it back from the shop.

Thats a pretty serious gap. I'm getting a '03 cobra hood from a guy here in Austin. He's buying a cowl type hood. Will there be a gap like that with the stock GT front bumper cover?.

It looks like the hood is a tad to long

Maybe it's just me, but I don't think it's that big of a deal. I know us Mustang enthusiast would notice it, but any other driver on the road and even other non-Mustang enthusiast more than likely won't ever notice it. If I wanted that hood, that gap would not stop me. Just my $.02.

One of mine is broken and it still lines up perfect...from previous owner also.

Which bracket are we talking about here. I've had my bumper off before and I can't think of which one you are referring to.

Mine is the one on the radiator area under the hood. The actual bracket that comes off the pillar.

Most ppl don't know but the front of the 03 Cobra hood is shaped differently than the GT's. The very front of the Cobra hood is flatter/more horizontal while the GTs is curved. That gap can be fixed, with a little fabricating on the bumper. Not sure how, though.
