save the money for a down payment on your new car. youll have cheaper monthly payments by dropping that 1200 bucks down. You can also find a GT with the mach 1000 and youll be happy.

mach 1000 wont do sh*t for me, lol...and i dont need to save it, the GT = GRADUATION presant basically, imma be paying 140 a month to my parents for an 99-02 GT stang...so i dont need to save for down payment...but i want a system, then i can move it over to the GT in a few months...

so back to that, any ideas? if i dont spend that much, rest will go to savibng for exhaust...gears...etc...but i do want a system...

i pay 80 bucks a month for insurance.....haha...paid 3500 upfront to my mom...im all set....AND $80 FOR INSUREANCE (yes i stated that 2x)

and just save the 1.2K for an exhaust.....and other mods....dont worry about ur sound system....for now at least....but trust me.....if u get an exhaust, ull find that more people will respect you..cause if u get a system, they will be like wtf that guy is so ghetto...

if u do get a sound system, a 2 12" sonys w/ a 1200w sony amp work well....then i have pioneer speakers all around....no head unit yet....gave that mine to my g/f...pic so see the subs below (i never took a pic w/ the finished setup) also in my late taurus(rip)

If i were you i would get two 12 inch l7's and a viper amp they are hard to find, but the amps viper has are outragous . If you cant find one then just get yourself a kicker amp or one of the flame series audiobahn amps.

if u race and put the amps in the rear seat.... u wont be able to take the subs out too easily....just get boxes so all u have to do is un hook the wires...lift and be done w/ it...like i did w/ mine...2 seperate boxes makes it so much easier for intall and take out...buts thats jmo

I used to be a big stereo guy.But now my Mach 1000 is good enough.Save your money for mods like a complete exhaust. With the exhaust you won't even listen to the stereo much because your car is what you want too hear. With $1200 you could get any system you wanted and have it ready when you get your GT.

1. JL 10 W7

2.JL 500/1 Amplifier

3.Eclipse Head

The best combo I can think of. Maybe under 1200?
It would be lightweight saving gas.
It would sound awesome and could be really loud too. I only deal with JL cause they dont give you decieving power numbers like other companies do. Whatever you do stay away from Sony.

JL is over-rated and over-priced garbage. And eclipse USED to be good untill they put out them jvc decks. lol

id look into resonant engineering if you really wanted a mean sub/amp combo.

Depends - If your getting a GT with a Mach 1 sound package, its almost pointless spending all that money for a sound system since the Mach 1k sound system is pretty nice. It hits pretty hard and if I had 1.2 K i would save it for performance parts or for a down payment instead of spending it on a sound system.

I built my sub box into my back seat. My exhaust is pretty loud so I'm not too concerned about having an amazing stereo system

Here's just my two cents. I have the Mach 460 system and loved it, but just wanted a little more umph. I went with the BRAND NEW JL audio w1 subs. 10 inchers, they REALLY HIT HARD and sound awesome. I used a Bassworks box with a slight angle, and installed the two subs. Also a 700 watt Autotek amp installed on the rear of one of the back seats, so its hidden, kinda cool. I would recommend 10 inch subs, simply cuz you'll have a HELL of a time fitting a 12 inch box in ur trunk, even if u just get one. My dual 10 inch box barely fit but its sweet how it worked out. The top of the box is literally digging into two factory amps mounted underneath the rear seat deck. The box ain't moving ANYWHERE. The amps power has a **** from 1-10 power, mines barely at 2, thats how hard these subs hit. It sounds ubelievable. Im huge into sound quailty and not loudness and VERY pleased with my choise. JL audio w7's are good subs, but EXPENSIVE. I bought everything new and with install you'd think I pay like 700, 800, maybe even 900 bux. I paid 512 bux with tax. and there was no special on any of my products. Also, I have a nice pioneer head unit for sale if anyone is interested, i do not want it since I find the Mach 460 6 CD changer incredibly nice.

I used to run JL and I loved it. Never had a problem, handled alot more power than it was rated for.

Granted I never paid full price for their stuff....

Don't get a system. Systems draw attention to your car. If you use it, odds are it will get jacked.

A few things to remember.
1. Stay away from audiobling and Sony at all costs.
2. Everyone keeps saying oh the stock mach 460 or 1000 system is good enough. Well if your like me good enough isn't good enough.
3. And since when can you only choose between a kick as sound system and a nice exhaust note??? Why turn it into a trade off when you can have both???

Oh if it matters any I run a Alpine 9851 HU, with (2) Memphis PR series subs, Memphis 100.4 amp, Memphis M-Class 5x7's all the way around in the cabin. I get nothing but compliments on how good my stereo sounds. LOL my gf keeps making fun of me because she keeps telling me she can hear my stereo before she sees my car. It's cool though and if people think I'm ghetto well...I guess I'm just hood rich

By the way where are you in Simi? I live in Canoga Park and go to school and run track at CSUN.

I had a connection tho... my best friend hooked me up real good... I bought the 2 12" 1000watt audiobahn subs, giant audiobauhn amp, capacator, and wires for $300 used.

then a new subbox, and 4 pioneer speakers for $210 no tax.

thats what ya need and try to do...

Stereo isnt that important... dont blow a grand on speakers... i had no speakers in my car just a headunit and the option i chose was cheap in comparason to the value...

Find some one who has already bought alot of stereo in your area, they will save you the most

taillights gotta go...

I got two 10" JL Audio W1 subs, slanted Bassworks box, 700watt autotek amp, and professional install for 520 bux. Again, I would recommend 10 inch subs for a mustang, you''ll have a hard time fitting 12s
