That's what I thought. It still relates to imports (AKA Rice burners) and I don't like them either. But why ask if something is rice on a mustang? The Mustang is american built (well...for the most part anyway). So, does rice mean that if you put an altezza taillight on a mustang, then it is assumed that you are trying to turn your mustang into a Honda? To me, unless you are pulling the engine and dropping a v-tec engine in it and then badging it with Honda garb or something and then buying an import bodykit that is supposed to go on a Honda, it's still a mustang. Right? Or is "rice" just a way of saying that you don't think something appeals to one's tastes. It just really bugs me when someone has to ask if a particular body kit looks like something out of the Fast and the Furious in fear of being labeled "rice". What happened to the good ole' days when an import was an import and an american musclecar was an american musclecar. Regardless of the freakin' body kit you had on it.

You really have to watch what you order with these universal kits. You have to remember your door moves differently obviously and you have to make sure it seals back up right or you can be prone to leaks and what not.

 

im gonna get the kit as soon as i get the money but listen the bolt on kits arent the way to go either they dont go a full 90o upward the universals if done right are the best route to and a little cheaper, im 6'3 its hard enough for me to get in and out as it is and the bolt on kits dont open very much at all.

 

With the vert doors, you should have more clearance than with the stockers. Provided that the kit pushes the door out and up.

Rice means....One who has totally altered the appearence of a the car..meaning Buying a Full body kit and ONLY modifying the APPEARENCE of the car and NOT the engine...

Now if u Modify the APPEARENCE of the Car AND Modify the engine making it FASTER now you cant really say that its a ricer cause the car has the SPEED to back up the "FAST" look..

Afew months ago I saw at World Ford a new yellow Mustang with lambo doors. What struck me odd how a dealer was selling a Stang with his option. Wish I would of stopped by to see it.

 

you might have some good points there but i disagree completly they started calling imported cars rice burners because they are made by japs so thats where it comes from, so you say you dont do any mods to make a cobra faster and change the body completly then its a ricer.
