Hey so i see you have a carbon fiber hood. is it ViS? How was the fitment? what did you have to do to install it? did you have to move the latch up or down?
I ask because I have the ViS Carbon Fiber Cowl hood coming and wanted to get your experience on installing the ViS hood..? Im doing it myself..

Sorry buddy, didn't see it till this morning. Yeah it's a VIS hood, but it's an oddball. The carbon fiber is done by VIS and the underliner is done by Cervinis. I haven't seen or heard about another hood that is like that so I don't know if that makes it any different from a typical VIS hood. I bought it about six years ago. The fitment was great, on my old v6 mustang I had to adjust the latch a bit, but that's only two or three screws. I used some washers on the hinges to make it line up a little better. I think the need for adjustment was more due becuase of the car than the hood. On my GT the hood fit perfect the first time. No adjustment or washers. The hood has a steel latch so you can be pretty confident that it will hold, but the hood is super light, mine is 13lbs. At interstate speeds with a head or crosswind it will jump and shake a bit. After I didn't latch the hood good one time and it poped up on me on the interstate one time (secondary latch caught it, I made a thread about it, you can probably find it if you search.) it scared me to death. I had already been warned on the race track about it looking like it was lifting up at speeds above 100. This past winter I installed some Aerocatch hood latches and it has been beyond perfect since then, no shaking or anything.
I did have to get the hood re-cleared about 3 years after having it. The sun took its toll on it. I haven't had trouble with it since. The weave of the carbon fiber is perfect, fitments is great, the quality of construction is perfect.

Great thanks FR. When you adjusted the LATCH what did you adjust exatly.. I heard that the Latch may need to be RAISED a liitle for some hood.
Looking at my latch it looks like its bolted by 2 screws. Will i need to unbolt the whole latch mechanism and them drill 2 holes a bit higher and then bolten the latch mechanism agian. Or is there another way..lol
Sorry..im just gathering as much info on installing this thing before it gets here.. I like to know what to kinda expect..
