Default Help me out SN95 owners

Ok so I was at a show the other week and someone came by to comment my car and then asked me if I painted black the back plastic part below where is says "MUSTANG GT." He said he thought it was originally my factory color. I began thinking, but that it was like this when I got it so I don't remember what it's supposed to be stock.

Anyways now the piece is like a matte black but it is chipping away where it meets the rear bumper so in the creases it looks yellow in spots.

Did this come stock like this or was it originally painted the same color as my car(forest green)?

Either way should I just get it repainted black or should I get is painted to match the rest of my car? Take a look at what I'm talking about below.(not the best pic I know)

It was originally the same color as the car, whoever owned it before you painted it, which is the best move, it kind of copies the 03/04 Cobra rear bumper.

Paint it satin black.

I can't see the pic but I assume you mean the bottom area of the bumper that runs from exhaust pipe to exhaust pipe that has an indent around it

On some GT's that was painted black (edit: I think) and I think it looks cool and I plan on doing it to mine eventually

I'll post another picture tomorrow. Im assuming it's painted with a dull black not a glossy one. I never cared until I noticed the shitty masking job the last guy did that it is not starting to peel.

I always liked it black and thought it looked "right." For some reason I think painting it to match would look a little odd.

My body shop guy will take it off and repaint it and everything for like $50. I think I'll call him and ask him to set it up soon.

WN is right. Ford did paint it one color, but it looks so much better in black.

I believe on the 97 GT's they were painted black like that, and personally I think it gives it more detail that way too
