Default Oxidized aluminum underhood parts

I take my car off the road for the winter. But, the other day I opened the hood....and all the aluminum parts look like ****. valve covers, alternator, etc...all have powdery oxidation on them! I hate that!!!!!!!! What do you guys use to clean/protect everything? I usually wipe down with WD40, but wondering if there is anything better?

Rusty bolts too...its funny how things turn to **** from just sitting.

Time for lots of spring cleaning..........

Thanks

if you go to autozone or an auto parts store, pick up some mothers aluminum polish.

Thanks, I'll try it out. I have always had good luck with Mother's products.

Some aftermarket pieces have a clear coating on them and you don't want to use a metal polish because it will take remove the coating and make it oxidize a lot faster.
