Wasn't exactly sure where this belonged so I decided to post here, mods can move it if theres a better place. So my plans were to trade in my 2004 v6 for an 05+ GT and mod it. However the more I think about this car the more I start to take into consideration buying it and restoring it.

Can anyone throw out a number that it would cost to fully restore this?

I'm not sure about cost to restore, but I can tell you that that car is NOT worth $2,000...especially in this economy. Maybe $1,500 when the economy was better, but I'm thinking maybe $900-$1,200 max on that.

really? I thought $2,000 was actually reasonable. I'm sure I could talk him down to $1500

Wow 2,000 for that? If you look hard enough you can find some for 2,000 that are in better condition. Or you can find some in the same condition for less. Or just fork out 4,000-6,000 for a fairly decent one and work on that.

I hope you know how to make patch panels and do metal work cause you will be doing that with that car. Even if you did the work yourself on that car you would easily spend 20-30k getting it back to decent shape with body work, drive train, interior. Not to mention all the time you have to put in.
