Hello everyone. first off im sorry if i posted this in the wrong section. if its in the wrong section mod please move.

anyway today in the late afternoon. i decide to go sledding. not thinking i park in a spot that is filled with snow!(yes i know stupid) but anyway i go sledding for a couple hours and get back to my car. and the car is STUCK. wont get out. so i get a couple of my friends and my brother to push on the back. well anyway my brother decides to push on the wing. and he rips it right off :(. so now im debating weather to keep it off or just put a new one on. now im not made of money over here so if i do put one on it will be a stock wing. but if i keep it off im going to debadge my car also.
what do you guys think? keep it off and debadge my car. ill post pics up tomorrow when i get home from school

sorry. its an 03 gt

pic of when i first got the car

Wingless! Just make sure to plug the holes.

Magickrate 03-04-2009 07:57 PM

sorry i edited my first post its up now!

and yes if i do go wingless i am going to get it bondoed(or what ever they do) and touch up paint it or what ever.

but as of right now the screws are still in my truck so the holes are still coverd up

King 03-04-2009 07:57 PM

Yeah post pics. I don't think I've seen your car, in a while at least. Anyway, was it a clean break? What about the screws that hold the wing in? I can't imagine it being a clean break, so you might be stuck with it off....I definitely want to see some pictures though.

Yeah post a day pic when you can...and I think you'll probably have to do some work before you'll get that wing back in shape to get back on. Regardless, why would you debadge the car?

Keep the wing. Looks all gay without one.

Lazerred6 03-05-2009 09:31 AM

I don't get why so many people says to take the wing off of mustangs I think they look good with them on

NewMustangMan 03-05-2009 09:48 AM

They may look good with them on, but they look Badass with them off!

Hence the saying, "opinions are like assholes, everybody has one".

I love the look of Mustangs without spoilers. The only one I'd put anywhere near my car now is a GT500 spoiler.

Magickrate 03-05-2009 02:35 PM

ok well i have an appointment with a body shop on saturday. and going to see how much it is to put it back on(but a new wing) and how much to just bondo it and paint the holes and what not.

but im still undecided on what im giong to do. but i think im giong to debadge my car no matter what.

crzhrse 03-25-2009 06:00 PM

I would have beat my friend to death with the wing

for an update. put the wing back on. but i think it will be comming off for the summer. i kinda like it better off.

crzhrse 03-25-2009 06:07 PM

I 2nd bad days .... findin out how much a repacement cobra 3rd brake light is from the dealer after an idiot thinks its ok to lean on your trunk while trying to impress some girl with a car that isn't theirs ..... I would have smacked the punk silly if he wasnt 17

Wombozi17 03-25-2009 06:47 PM

Was this wing just torn off? I unscrewed mine so it wouldn't crack and break...

Wombozi17 03-25-2009 06:54 PM

Oh i see. I should have read the post a little more thoroughly. My bad! Sorry it got removed in such an ugly manner.

I vote keeping the wing.

crzhrse 03-25-2009 06:55 PM

Oh yea I would 2nd keeping the wing as well lol I never mentioned that

FoxRodder 03-27-2009 05:35 PM

I just took the wing off my 2000 the other day. Mine has the older style one. Previous owner decided to do the push the wing back further mod only, for some reason he thought it would be a better idea to break off two studs than drill two new holes so it rattled every time I closed the trunk ( and put a small rusty impression in the paint).

Mine was a no brainer to take off because of that hack job (plus I like the clean look better and its weight reduction!). A quick fix I did for the holes was fill them with extra door push clips that Mustangs have holding the door panels on. You can get them for a few bucks at the auto parts store. I just put a little silicon rtv on the bottom side to hold them in. Thats the water drain channel anyways so it really is only a cosmetic issue. When it comes time for paint I'll have the holes filled with bondo

I have seen a few Mustangs without a rear spoiler that I thought looked pretty cool, but for the most part, I think they look funny without one...especially if you can see where one used to be.

LOL...Here we go. No really, you have a beautiful car, man. It looks sleek. But at the same time, especially with that bodystyle, it would look meaner with a wing. I also understand that a mean look is not everyones priority.
