Just a quick idea I had...
http://www.mach1registry.org/forums/...3&d=1235673862
^^^ I took a Cobra and did a quick PS on it. It's something I've had in mind for a while, and suddenly I REALLY WANT TO DO IT. I think the finished product would look pretty sick, personally. Get a shaved bumper and paint the MACH1 on....opinions? I've own a lot of things that I'm sure I could sell for decent money, especially a few Dale Earnhardt Sr., Richard Petty and Rick Carelli autographs...but I really want to think on it a bit more before I decide to actually sell any of those. I've also got a lot of other junk I don't use that I could sell to get the money to do this, but again I want to think on it a bit more. Oh! and for reference, here is my bumper as it looks like now... http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i1...s/GEDC0131.jpg |
I think it would look cool but the color of that cobra is horrible
Are you going to just paint the letters on? Or like our bumpers?
I think it would look sick if you got it to match perfectly. |
Yeah, it was silver....I just did a quick PS. Not a quality one by far. I noticed the color after I posted it on M1R, but it's not worth changing. The idea is the same.

It's like a neon yellow makes my eyes hurt
I'll change it, hang on..
Looks like a lemon lime flavored laffy taffy

I was having a hard time loading it...but it should be here now.
looks the same
edit: nvm much better |
Just got it to upload in my last post.
Sorry, Nick, but I'm not a fan. It looks like it says 'MACHI'. However, it is something different, but that's the only reason why I like it. Maybe if you actually painted the 'l' to look line a '1', it would be a little better to me.
IMHO i think it would look badass if the letters were carved in or whatever like stock, but would look ghey without the indents and just stickers or vinyl. maybe painted on would look cool but idk. all three options would look good from far away, but the actual letters in the bumper and some letters set in would look better up close
Yeah, I have no idea how I'd go about carving them in though.
Oh, just noticed that I put this in pictures. Mods feel free to move to SS&T
Just not sure how I feel about that. I think whats throwing me off is the fact that it's not just on word really. COBRA and MUSTANG fit cause there is no separation, but with MACH 1 you got the space between Mach and 1. See what it looks like with just MACH. Not sure how it would look those just being painted on. Might look kinda cheesy.
My ideal rear bumper would be the 03 cobra bumper, shaved letters and no cutouts for the exhaust. Just have that plastic piece on the bottom of the bumper go all the way across. |
dude, i think it will look incredibly good on your car. unique. shop this around, because this is not something that can be really done over.
If you could carve the letters in I think itd look pretty badass
you should take your dealer sticker off.
as for the bumper im not feeling it. |
I think it could look pretty good.

But windy. I don't want dust and other random crap flying into wet paint.

For sure. Not really digging the "MACH 1" on bumper I've got now. I just don't like the factory bumper to begin with. The Cobra one just looks mean.

Heres a Mach 1 that I saw at a show awhile back, ugly ass body kit on it though....
Attachment 19780 |
Is that really a mach 1?
Jesus :( |
I think I puked a little in my mouth when I saw that bumper. Why would you take a picture of such wrong-ness (other than the "MACH 1" on the back)? But yeah...I think it'd look sick as hell on a shaved Cobra bumper.
Holy hell
Yeah unfortunately it was a real Mach. Damn shame really. I only took a picture of that mess because of the bumper text, first time I saw it and thought it was interesting. Lol.
From seeing it person, just 'Mach 1' painted on the shaved bumper looked odd. If it could be punched in that'd be badass but don't how easy that would be to get done. I'd just shave the cobra bumper and leave it at that personally. |
Getting it indented would be extremely difficult and expensive..you'd pretty much just need to have a bumper manufactured.
Maybe...we've got a really talented guy at the bodyshop in town, if anyone could do it, he'd probably be the one. First things first, though....Money....I need to get some.
not at fan. definitely different but just doesn't look right to me.
i love it!!!!!! lol...
i think that someone on mach1registry was thinking of getting this done but the company would make it with Mach I engraved in it. i think that if they had enough orders he was going to do it as part he can do for anyone. |
I thought I read that once, too...do you remember which member it was? I've been looking around all day but with no luck.
i have no idea. it was a couple months ago...just make a nice lil thread about it lol. if it is happening...let me know... cause i wanna get one when i buy my mach.
You're in the market for a mach? Dude, I saw one with 19k miles for $16k today on M1R. I think it was PA, too...not 100% on that, but fairly certain.
I think it would look sweet, even if it wasn't filled in with black paint :). The only way I can think of to accomplish it though is to add shit loads of filler to build it up (uniformly.) Then you could make some sort of template, and have a body shop carefully carve it out for you. Certainly not an easy mod to say the least. Or, as someone mentioned above, you could try to find someone to do a custom bumper for you. Chances are though that they would probably use fiberglass instead of ABS.
I can see where you want to go but I dont know if its gonna look right when its done. Best part of the deal is you already have a beautiful car so it doesnt have to be done. Its that "need" or "want" thing.
Take the dealer decal off and dont fix it if it aint broke !!! Just my opinion |
