Default Mustang Louvers

Hello. Well im kinda new here so I thought id give it a shot Im looking into getting the rear window louver and c pillar scoops. Main question... Which is better? The ABS plastic louver or aluminum louver? Anyone have any of these? I think the aluminum could ding up and rust in a couple years but to me looks better than the ABS. Also, how about c pillar scoops? How hard is the install? Did they go on right? Any suggestions on where to buy from?? 99-04 mustang

Thanks!

I personally think the plastic louvers look cheap and stupid, I'd go with the aluminum ones.

The Mach C-Pillars? What do you want to know about them? Late Model Resto has them at a reasonable price if that's what you were curious about.

As for the louvers, definitely go with the metal ones. The plastic ones look like they came right off of a hotwheels car and should not go on Mustangs, period. The brand you want it Visus, but they were bought out a few years ago by Mustang Racing Technologies. You can still get them, they just have the MRT sticker on them now other than the Visus one.

I think he means scoops for the c-pillars, not the mach style. Something like this im guessing:

Visus Louvers are the best available imo.

Along with mostly everyone else, I'm going to say to get the aluminum louvers. They look much sleeker and cleaner than the plastic. Also, depending on where you live and where you park your car, the plastic louvers will degrade much more quickly than the aluminum. If you take proper care of the aluminum, they will last a lot longer.

I have the aluminum louvers from astra hammond. I love the look of them and they were very simple to install. The plastic louvers look like something from playschool.

I always thought the plastic ones looked good with the pics on the net, but in person they look pretty cheap.

aluminum FTW!

OK ! I gotta jump in on this one !!. Those aluminum louvers look better than my plastic ones. most definatley the plast ones keep wayyyyy more sun out, the alum ones definatley let more sun in, so i gues it all depends on what ur wanting, obviously looks should be numero uno, i live in texas, and man-o-live it gets fruking hot down here. i'm looking out my window right now, the slits between the louvers r about 1" very tight, but i can still see out the back very well. Take a look at my stang pics on my n-b thread c-what-cha think. Looks like the plastic r more of a lower tighter look, the alum ones look more flared out, like a macaw bird's feathers on it's head. Also here in Texas we get BAD hail storms, another factor in the decision making.

Those are it!!! I was wondering how hard are they to install? Is there a preferred brand or website to get them from>? I want a nice clean fit. Just paint and install. I bought a cobra r wing and it was fiberglass and it was all bent and wont fit. It just sits in the garage now so im looking for something worth it.

mine were plastic and they were very durable. I like them more than the aluminum but it is just personal opinion
