Default Guages and Hood Pins.....

Went to the Stealership today to see if if they would install my reverse glow gauges and hood pins.

Well they wanted wanted $352.00 just to install the guages. I looked at the guy and was like Hell no that's to expensive. So then i went to the body shop and see if they would install my hood pins and they told me they wouldn't since they had never done them before so they sent me to another place and that place said they wouldn't do them so they sent to yet another place at which they quoted me $200 for the install which is rather reasonable.

dude, the gauges only require basic tools like a screwdriver. Im not kidding it is THAT easy, it is harder to change yer oil than replace the gauges with the reverse glow.

and the hood pins ,.200 bucks???? HELL NO! i wouldnt pay more than 30 bucks to have them installed.

hood pins arent thart hard to do, yer basically drilling the hold for the pin, 8 holes for the bolts on the hood pin cover, and thats that.

ok, well, maybe 50 bucks. anything much over that is a complete ripoff in my view.

this is how easy it is.

1 drill the holes for the pins on the front upper part of the frame where you want them.

2 install the hood pins, and put a tab of fingernail polish, grease, or paint on the very top of them, then drop the hood back down and voila, perfectly marked guide holes.

Drill the holes up through the hood, then close the hood with the hood pins sticking through

Next, take the bezel plates (flat circle discs), put them on over the hoodpin, make sure they are squared up and drill the holes for the bolts to hole them on.

threat the bolts through, put the nuts on, then take like 3 minutes to adjust the height of the hoodpins so they are where you want them.

Voila.

it takes like 1/2 hour to do it.

this isnt like fitting on a bad bodykit,. this is about as easy as putting on a new CAI

I have never installed hoodpins, however, i DID install lo9cking hood latches which work like hoodpins but actually lock and cover the pin. I did this on a carbon fiber hood aand it took me like an hour to do because i had to cut big oval holes in the hood about 4inches by 1.5inches.

on this all yer doing is drilling like a 3/8th hole for the pins to go through then some smaller holes for the bolts to bold on the bezel.

200 bucks is what i would expect to pay somone to do the setup i had.

50 bucks for hood pins.

Lol..drive over to my house and I'll install them both for $50. Paying for gas to get here would be cheaper than getting raped by that shop/dealership

you just gottas pull off the light switch, take out like 4 screws, then pull off the face of the dash, take off like 4 more screws, pull the gauge out, take off the plastic shield, and put the new one in and put it all back together

good god man it is easier than changing the oil, it is NOT possible to **** it up. All you need is a screwdriver and an adjustable wrench and 5 minutes of yer time!!!!!

Go to speedhut to get custom gauges. I got some for my SVT Focus and the Cobra and they're both great. You can get any color, any background, whatever you want.
