Third brake light

My third brake light is old and scratched up. I want to buy a new one but i'm not sure which to go with. AM doesn't have the stock light for purchase but they do have the clear LED one. I have looked at the pictures of what it looks like installed on other people's cars and its nice but i'm not sure if I want to get it or not. What do you guys think would be the better way to go? Stock or clear?

If you get an LED one, get the black one and not the clear one. The Clear one looks too ricy.

Or you can restore your stock one too if you wanna save the $100. I wet sanded mine and it came out looking better than new.

Oh yeah there is no way I would buy the crome would. It looks awful. I like the black one. It looks good but doesn't match the tailights so I don't know what I want to go with. I thought about just wet sanding it but it is pretty scratched up and the car is a 99 so I thought I would purchase a new part.

Mines a 2001 and living in Florida the constant direct heat just killed it. My break light had like parallel stress cracks and i could feel each individual one with my fingers. I restored my girl friends 99 aswell, hers was even worse and had like a whitish haze, still came out almost perfect. Give it a shot dude. Won't hurt anything and it could potentially save you money.

If mine didn't come out well i was thinking about getting the black led light too. I just wanted to see it person first though. I have my tails blacked out so i thought it would have fit in nicely. Was just worried that it might look ricy in person.

I would also say try to fix your's. Those results are pretty good and it's just like fixing headlights, probably easier.

Yeah its easier than doing the headlights cause its a flat surface.

Hey Pcola, can you put up a post on how you did it. Looks brand new! Good job.
