ok some people might think i am stupid or lazy for not researching but what exactly does the 232 stand for. is that the engine size? like a 350 or whatever.i have a 96 3.8l v6, so does that mean i have a 232 cause i kinda like the 232 emblems but i don't want to put them on something they don't belong on. if i could hide my screen name i would for this question.

No. Use heat to warm up the adhesive part of the old badge, then use floss or floss like string to cut it from the car. From there, use goo gone or something like that to get rid of the left over adhesive. Then the new badge will have instructions.
