Default Shaving Emblems

I really want to take my car to a body shop and shave my emblems off and have them take off the black msutang sticker on the lower section of the doors.
How Much would it cost for them to fill the holes of the fenders where the emblems are?

shop around...if you want it looking perfect, you will need to have the entire fender painted or more...depends on the color of your car...I have no idea what colors are hard to work with though. I'd just slap some low profile, non eye catching emblems on there...thats what I did.

Do it no matter what the cost! My fenders are shaved and I love it. I have no idea how much it will cost you though. The sticker you should be able to take off yourself with a hairdryer.

The fenders were shaved when I got the car last October so I couldn't tell you how much it cost.

the 281 emblems were the plainest ones I could find at the time, that also have the traditional Ford emblem shape as well.

There are several ways you can find some. I bought three of the pieces, already painted, off Ebay for $160 and then contacted Steve over at SVTPerformance.com (FORDSVTPARTS@HOTMAIL.COM or at 1-800-328-9552 ask for Steve.) and it cost another $60 for one of the short pieces, painted, that didn't come with the parts I got from Ebay. So it cost me $220 for Cobra side skirts already painted. I don't think Steve keeps SB in stock though so you will proably have to get primed parts and get them painted.

Another way to get some is to look around on this forum and others in the for sale section and every now-and-then there will be some for sale like these over at 3.8.
http://www.3.8mustang.com/forum/showthread.php?t=218973

Or you can ask Randy here on the board in the Parts Desk section.

What does shaving your emblems gain you? A cleaner look is about it. Woopie. Just get some cleaner looking emblems like zig said. Personally I have these http://www.americanmuscle.com/mustangemblem.html

Be proud of your GT! The GT emblems look better than those 281 ones IMO.

I dont get why some people want to make their GT look plain. I understand some people don't like the fake hood scoop and side scoops but its a Mustang. Its supposed to have lines and not look so damn dull.

Redfire, you have any pictures of the back of your car? I'm curious as to how it looks with the black accents in the back.

I think the running pony fender emblems look the best.
I wouldn't mind taken the ford emblem off the trunk, though.

Yeah but getting one is probably expensive..and I'd rather not put a cheap vinyl overlay on it.

none of the 04's did, they all have the 40th badges. lol

Hey Steeda, see if they can paint your badges True Blue.

You get to keep the GT badging, and they will blend in pretty good.

Some people, and I, like clean, uninterupted lines. It's different and shows that more time and effort was put into something. A GT doesn't need a badge to be a GT, and if you get mistaken for a v6 than your doing something wrong.

First time i saw Zigs car i thought it was a used V6 he bought off a rental place.

baaaa hahahahahahahah

I would love to have my front and rear emblems shaved, but rather than showing more time and effort it looks like somone blew 1,500 on shaving emblems when they could have had a built suspension instead. Seriously, shaving badges, come on, how about getting rid of the door handles and keyhole on the bumper instead? THAT would clean it up more.

I was really hoping to get rid of everything non functional on my stang, i had been working out what it would take to make the side scoops functional for some use, or get rid of them, but it looks like the stang is just going away instead.

This is the most up to date I have. Picture this with the black mach 1 spoiler. That's the only thing missing.

exactly.

I feel like the stock GT emblems look kinda "cartoonish" almost juvenile in a way. They don't go along with the car very well at all IMO. I wanted a cleaner look. simply, simple.

lol...you'd rent it. and then realize my "rental" was a faster and better handling car than your own. BWAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

nah nah nee boo boo!

Dude, if yer gonna do it, for christs sakes while yer at it do the door handles, and the key hole on the trunk as well.

not worth the expence if yer just filling in 4 little holes.

01FR500 is damn lucky to get one already done, it DOES look good, but it seems like a waste just to do the fenders, do the rest while yer at it

Thanks. Have you ever stood there and looked at the driver's side door key hole and though about how stupid it is. Just go out and look at the place it is in and how much you'd rather not have it there. I was standing out in the driveway with my friend not long ago, his Z28's key hole was flush with the door, and in-line with the handle. Then I looked at mine and it looked out of place. Atleast there isn't a key hole on the passenger side door, for some of us, it looks so much better.

Yah definatly.

if i had plenty extra to spend, ya know, as in my car already had a built and blown engine and i just had the cash laying around i wwould totally do it.

fill in the holes in the fender, the trunk lid, shave off the door handles, the key hole, tyake off the sidescoops and fill that in so they look more like the s195 sizes...

it WOULD look hawt that is for sure.

but thaat would probably run you 2-3 grand...
