What I do is the usual stuff, wash, wax clean the engine bay, interior..etc...then when I get there, I spray the entire tire with tire shine and get into the wheel wells as well.

Wash, Clay bar, and polish it, follow up with a few coats of klasse sealant glaze and top with your favorite wax. You might want to also consider removing the wheels and scrubbing both them and the wheel wells, followed with a high temperature acrylic sealant on the wheel wells and engine bay. www.autogeek.net or www.autopia-carcare.com both carry real top notch products

Make sure the inner portion of your rims are clean, all door jams cleaned and near spotless inside along with the engine bay. Spraying the entire tire with tire shine doesnt give you points in a carshow....most judges will laugh at the fact of it....considering it's a daily driven car. If you have a full out show car thats a trailer queen...then yea consider it. One thing to make sure is when you clean your windows, you dont leave any streaks at all. Make sure all the plastic/rubber trim on the outside is cleaned well to along with the little areas between the taillights and bumper. Same goes in the headlight area/sideskirt area also. Aniother thing is try and make sure your brake calipers are cleaned up good...if they are it will be noticed by judges.

As far as the waxing and all...like Codiddy stated previously. As long as the car has a deep wet look to...and no hazing then you will do good. Do all of this and you will be fine, but make sure you are with the car when the judges come so if they have any questions you can answer them....it always helps them out alot.
