Exclamation Best way to clean a dirty convertible top?

Had some rain here recently, and combined with the local cat population of several billion, my vert top is now sporting a huge amount of muddy paw prints. Tried getting at it with soapy water which didnt seem to do much :-)
Any suggestions?

What color top?

Vert tops are a pain to keep clean. Unless you park your car indoor all the time and never drive it, these thiongs just don't seem to last much more than about 8 - 10 years. Mine is 5 years old, and I will probably pull it off next year (mine is tan).

One of the problems with a top is that harsh chemicals that work get on the paint, so options are limited.

What I do is use top cleaner. It is in a blue and white bottle and is pretty strong. I forget the brand. I generally hit the top when I am gonna wax anyway.

Good luck.

It's a black top, ill try some of that cleaner you mentioned. those cat prints are driving me nuts. I need to put some tinfoil and some 9 volt batteries on top before I go to bed or somthing ;-)

Bluemagic right? I use the same stuff. Works great as a cleaner, but also protects, and makes the vert top looker newer, and less faded.

I also have a black top and have used both the Mothers and bluemagic. I have to say out of the two of them the mothers is the way to go IMO
