Talking New speakers Installed!!!

My old stock speakers were blown in both doors. I have the mach stereo w/6 disc changer. I went out today and bought a component set to replace my tweeter and midrange in the doors. I bought an adapter so I could put round 5'1/4 speakers in there cause I heard they sound better. The salesman suggested a Total Mobile Audio T5.25C2 2-way component system. I saw the price and I was like wow thats cheap! It was 149.99 for the set. I listened to them in the shop and they sounded awesome. They have a nice little crossover for them.

I installed them earlier and OMG they sound AWESOME! It sounds 10 times better than the stockers! The highs are high and clear, and the mids are punchy and deep! Sounds way different from stock. Im puttin them in the rears next time I get my paycheck. Cant wait till I get an amp and some more stuff.

Congrats on the set-up. I've got 4-way 6x8" Pioneers all around and they thump! They are custom fit to be in Fords so if you buy them you just screw 'em right on.

I've been there and done it many of times with cd players and subs and componets....i'm sticking with the Mach1000 i got in now. I actually turned it up today and it bumps good but not near as much as my old '01 cougar did a couple years ago.(2 JL12w6's/JL 1000.2 amp/JL componets/Eclipse touch screen DVD,CD,am,fm) This past weekend people were amazed when they saw the Mach1000 and i told them it was factory...the judges from NOPI didnt even think it was factory.

I just have the regular Mach setup in my car. My speakers were blown because I blast the radio all the time. It was just too much continuous volume for stock speakers. I want to be able to blast my stereo all the time without worries or hearing distortion so I need to upgrade. Its all adding up quick though cause now I need an amplifier and cd player to run the new speakers. Basically I need a complete system to get the sound im looking for.

I will get some components for the back also. The problem is, these speakers start to distort when it gets loud because I dont have enough power to them. The re So I need about $800 to put into it before I can get it right. Then I still wont have the bass im looking for. Thatll be around $800 more....and ill prolly need a high amp alternator After all that it will be waaaay louder and cleaner than stock or even the Mach1000. I think its worth it cause I listen to music loud all the time.

The mach 460 sucks imo, I just bought an aftermarket CD player and ran all new speaker wire and bypassed all of the stock wiring and amps. Sounds 10X better and its really not that hard to get the wire from the doors to the car. Just need a coat hanger to pull the wires through the black rubber hose things that hold all the wires going to the doors.

I have a pioneer CD, Pioneer 6X8 in rear and Kicker 6x8 in front with 2 10" RF subs.

So you actually bypassed the stock amps in the trunk? I was thinking about that option also, but Im sure there is a way to connect an aftermarket head unit to the stock amps. I guess there really is no point to the stock amps since they only put out like 10 watts RMS....an aftermarket head can do that by itself.

O yea and I just pulled the wires through the rubber with my fingers. I have skinny fingers though....I had to run them through there cause the crossovers are mounted under the dash. I couldnt find a spot to mount them inside the door...
