I have added Bullitt side scoops and side skirts. WOW the difference is huge and it looks awesome with the DSG. Only problem is, I wont paint the pieces until after I get the Cobra mirrors and 01 cobra bumper. So for now, I have painted them with Duplicolor T299. I primed, sealed, 3 coats of enamal base, then 3 coats of enamel clear. After I get done, the paint isnt real smooth and its not too shiny. I want to make it look as close to factory as possible, so I am looking for a glass like finish. Is there some kind of trick to making the paint real smooth and shiny? I was thinking maybe I need a urethane paint? But theres none of that in the spray can......

 

wet sanding, maybe?

 

wetsand with 1000 grit, then 1500 lastly some 2000 grit finish sandpaper,before you sand with the paper prime the sandpaper by putting it in a clean bucket with fresh water and 1-2 drops of dish soap let sit for 20mins. After that then get some good polish and polish the micro scratches out then wax... Remember you have to keep the surface wet at all times while sanding that should fix it.

 

why prime the paper with dish soap, im just wondering because im working on painting some bullet rims black and i doing alot of wet sanding. some insite on this would be great

 

few things actually,
Basically what it does is the soap that will be soaked into the paper will help lubercate the surface also it helps save time when you have to clean the surface again. and lastly it helps the sand paper become more flexable and easy to work with. at least that's what i have been told by alot of body people.

 

The reason you put dishsoap in the water is to help float the paper basically and it helps wash the particles away.. The water itself is very abrasive.
