one more thing, can NO2 be self installed, or need to go to a shop?

That depends on you. A dry kit will generally run you about $300 - $400 to install from a shop. The Venom is a bit harder then most since there are a lot of wires to install.

One thing about nitrous kits is that you can work on them a bit at a time while still being able to drive the car. This is unlike any other power adder.

So, lets say one Sat you decide to install the tank bracket and run the lines. Then the next Sat, you install the computer and the control module etc... At no time will the car be down.

I worked on mine this way.

If you have all thumbs and you and I were to work on your car, we could have the entire thing installed in 2 - 3 hours. But it took me a lot longer the first time around. I put a lot of thought into the layout. BTW, adding some switches and a bottle heater would add 1 - 2 more hours.

Those estimates leave room for eating a sandwich and having a few cold ones.

Blake! I think you have covered it all as usual Great advice!
The only thing i would add to this is, m0nkey if you have no experience with nitrous, I'd do my home work first and learn the do's and dont's of nitrous? The VCN 1000 is a very conservative and well design kit but any system can cause serious damage in the hands of inexperience.

MTs#1 has a very good write up on Nitrous and the VCN 1000 and it can be very useful
