X-Charger/X-Charger Extreme on 6'er
Won't be getting this any time soon, but I would like to know what I need done first.
Currently have dual exhaust w/xpipe, gonna go back to the muffler shop and have them cut the X off and put an H on before charging
Will be getting:
BBK TB
Steeda CAI w/SCT SF3
Steeda underdrive pulleys
FRPP 8.8" w/ 3.73
Eibach pro springs and Tokico D-spec package
and brake upgrade all before charging
Will I need new pistons/other internals for the X-Charger/Extreme so I don't blow out my engine?
Or would it be cheaper to drop a new engine in with more power, possibly 347 stroke short block..

Few problems here with your mods.
You can't run underdrive pulleys with a supercharger. And the TB is not going to add much performance at all and I would skip wasting cash on it. Other then the supercharger kit and a good dyno tune which I don't see listed, you dont have to have anything else. The other parts just help the car perform better.
Also the stock motor can handle that kit with the stock pulleys and boost they have you run. If you want to run a lot more boost, then you would need to upgrade the bottom end of the motor.
Also I don't see this kit making your car run faster then the Procharger kits do. The Procharger kits take a stock v6 car right into the 13sec 1/4 zone. Don't know if this kit can compair to that.

It just depends how much boost you wanna run. Up to a certain point your stock internals will be fine. I was told by my friend that works at a dyno 8 to 10 lbs of boost is safe on the stock internals

They aren't going to ship out a kit that makes so much boost or power that it breaks your bottom end. These setups are made for stock cars so it should not be a problem as long as you give it good fuel and get it tuned.

Also for basically the same price you could do a procharger with intercooler. I think that is the way i am going to go after I finish my exhaust system. I will also upgrade to a 8.8" rearend. I would say look at the prochargers as well.

Procharger would be better IMHO. They're wayy more widely used and they offer more upgrade capabilities. Anyone with an X-Charger that I've known has always upgraded to a different system later on. Plus with a Procharger you could find a used head unit for much cheaper than a new one and possibly save a couple hundred bucks.

Yeah I would definitely go with a procharger or vortech. You can do what I'm doing and piece one together for cheaper than a full kit right off the bat. If it's something your not going to do right away, you might as well just start piecing things together. There's used head units all over ebay and corral.net. I just got my vortech head unit off corral for $600.

does VMP give good tunes for superchargers? Or will I have to actually go and pay to have the car tuned and dyno'd at a shop? and if the dyno shop does it can they load my tuner with it?
second question:
I've heard of cai/tuner combos killing you at inspection time, but revert to stock seems to solve that problem.. would I have that problem with the supercharger? and if I do, I can't really revert to stock without hurting the engine right..?

VMP can do tunes threw email, but he is gonna want to you run it on the dyno and get the a/f and then he will send you another tune to fix a few problems here and there. However it will never run as good or make as much power as having it on the dyno with the tuner there to hear whats going on and make changes on the fly. You just need a good tuner and a dyno and your good to go. Trust me its well worth the cost after adding a power adder. I waited a long time and it was well worth it once I got tuned.

It depends.. If he is referring to an emissions inspection, then he should be ok as long as the CEL isn't lit. But if he is referring to a state inspection where they look over/drive your car, then he's screwed.
