Default Procharger vs Vortech

Ok, i have maybe switch my position on which one.

Procharger with air - air intercooler is cheaper but sees more gains than vortech.

which one is the better one, studies and dynos show that vortech falls short to procharger.

from all the forums i have read... lol asking which is better is kind of like asking which gears... 3.73 or 4.10.. ppl all was have there opion.... i went with procharger myself.. i like the self contain oil... and i also have read about the procharger beening better... but its just my opion.. there is goin to be ppl that have had bad experiance with both.... nothing is perfect....
intercooler sounds cooler then aftercooler (tho the intercooler can go on a vortech i think)

procharger hands donw. they make more power have no oil lines so its easy as hell to install, i have done 2 one on a f150 and one on a mustang 4.6 both took maybe 2-3 hours at most. you cant beat it. plus with there optional 3-core intercooler you can boost it up to 11psi without much worry.

I cant decide which one I like better. Both have there pro's and con's. I like that Procharger comes with the innercooler for about the same price, however thier kit does not include injectors. I like the Vortech because its a more complete kit, you can buy the aftercooler speratley later on and there is less tubing length so I would think it spools up quicker. I also like the reputation Vortech has, although punching a hole in the oil pan sucks. Also, dont rule out Paxton. The Novi 2000 is an excellent blower than can support 400-900 hp. Its definately a tough choice in todays blower market.

From what I have read the Procharger P1SC has been known to blow seals, so much so modualr powerhouse does not carry them anymore.

Vortechs do make less power but are more reliable, that being said I would get the Novi 2000. It will let you grow isntead of having to replace, and belt changes are easier too.

yeah ati does have seal problems on some blowers. my one freinds f150 5.4 with three core intercooler does not leak my other freinds v6 mustang 3 core kit does have a seal problem and leaks but its so small and only dripps a little that we dont even bother to send it in for a new one. he just checkks the oil level in it everyonce and awhile and its almost always fine.

If we were to stock superchargers, we would carry Procharger.

People are making about the same power out of a non intercooled vortech as the 2 core version of the procharger.

I have had both so I guess I should comment.
First the ProCharger:
I had a P1SC with a 3 core intercooler. The blower was very cumbersome and takes up allot of space in the engine compartment. It leaked like a faucet and ATI flat out insulted me when I tried to speak to them about servicing it. In so many words they blamed the leaks on me and litterally called me an "ameture idiot." Now, the blower made some SICK power and could be spun pretty high before it would start pumping out heat soaked air but when the air is full of oil, it causes detonation just as bad as heat. It is VERY difficult to install (contrary to the popular beliefe that the fact that it's self contained makes it easy) and the intercoolers rarely fit without making modifacations to the car's structure. Install took me 2 1/2 days.

Vortech SQ-trim V-2 (current blower): Very easy and straight forward install. THE OIL LINES ARE NOT HARD TO INSTALL!!!! The most common and affoardable blower, the SQ and S Trims tend to get a little hot when you run some serious boost. Anything above the 15 psi mark is going to really put the V-2 S units to their limit and will in turn cause some very hot discharge temps. So far I have had a 3" pulley on mine (which came stock with a 3.66" pulley) and have had no problems other than hot discharge which I can remedy very easily by either spraying a 25 or 50 shot, or use water injection.
The blower is allot smaller and fits in it's mounting locations perfect. Install took 5-6 hours and the oil return line was cake with the right tools.

If I could do it again:
I'd go with a Paxton Novi with Paxtons intercooler. In my opinion it's the best centrif blower on the market. The Novi 2k is just as at home making 8 psi on a stock motor as it is making 18 psi on a fully built renegade motor. It's efficient and durable and the intercooler set up fit's like a glove. Not to mention Vortech/Paxton has AWESOME customer service.

about ati, and blowing seal. i was reading on another fourm, cannt reameber atm which one tho, about blowin seal, this guy was saying he blow a seal and was talkin to ati about it, well they gave him a part number for the seal's, there at your locate auto part shops, like autozone..ect. he pick one up for like 10 dollors and said was not hard at all to install. if i remember the site, ill post the part number for it... will be for the p1 verson. guessing the seals are different on the p1 to d1 and f1.

Well they both hav pros and cons. But unless you get a D1 the p1sc will NEVER see the other side of 550rwhp..But a s trim can easily get there without a cooler.(these examples are on a 2v).

Street car a KB would be the best option ,for the track its a like others said your choice. But the KB also makes a nice option for the track too.
