Got Nitrous!

Got Nitrous!
Well:
Tonight I finally got the juice on the loose! Only tested the car with a measley 25 shot since it started to rain and I need new plugs before I get too crazy.
The Venom-1000 is VERY impressive even at the small shot. Why? Because the Venom computer takes over control of my fuel injection system and automatically controls my a/f. I think my a/f was a little rich to start with, so the power is very noticable. I was really surprised....I did not expect to feel it much with the small nozzle.
Stay tuned.............

Correction, the nozzle that I have installed now is a 35-40 shot. Just picked up some copper plugs today that are one-step colder and will be getting my nitrous tune emailed in the morning from SCT with timing retarded 1 degree. Then, I will jump up to 60, 80, and then 100 shot this weekend.
With the 40 shot, the car is an easy low 13 car.

That is a great kit. I went back and forth between the Venom and the NX Gen2. They are very different kits in the way they work.
Get different plugs. I am using autolite's (103). They are one heat range cooler and are copper. Gap them at 35 instead of the normal 50. It is important to do this especially if running a 100 shot.
You plug choice will really come down to how much spray you are planning. One rule of thumb is 1 heat range per 50 shot and to retard timing one degree for every 50 shot. But some say that is fine for a 100 shot. Whatever you do, don't advance the timing. And, you must use high test gas.
You should get it tuned. If not, then start with a small spray at first. Get colder plugs and retard the timing or leave stock. Listen for detonation and then pull your spark plugs and read them. This is very important. You should pull all of the plugs. Lay them out and number them so they go back in the same spot. Take a photo or at least take notes. They should be gray in color if you a/f is right or a little brown but NOT white. If they are white, you are running too lean and have a fuel problem. If fine, put back in and increase your spray. Then read plugs again. Make sense? This way you can verify that you are ok. If you keep yourself to a 100 shot, you should be good to go as long at you read your plugs. Putting on a dyno is also a good idea to read a/f.
You can retard your timing by getting a TA or a chip/programmer. I have an SCT Programmer with three different custom tunes on it. One is for nitrous.
Anyone on the juice should read plugs!
Hope this helps.

Just pulled my plugs yesterday to swap in the colder copper ones and they look great. I don't seem to have any problems. So, I went up tot he 75 shot. Kit works GREAT! It will be time for the 100 shot later today.
Yippeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
