$500 to install my mainline kit with FPSS, and msd digital window switch. The $500 also includes two custom dyno tunes one for n/a and one for N2O.

That's what i thaught. Greg at Racers Edge Tuning is a great guy and it sounded like a great price but I don't know what nitrous installs go for usually that's why I'm asking.

All I have is a bbk cai (I installed that), 4.10 gears and t-lok (hell no I didn't install that), SCT chip (hell yea I installed that lol) and dual exhaust (obviously I didn't install that). That's all I have as far as performance right now. I've done everything else though as far as the body etc. But this is my first real high power performance mod ever. This is my first and only car and my dad and I would just prefer a professional install in this case. For those of you wondering now I just turned 20 years old.

seriously if he isnt INCLUDING a chip or handheld tuner with the deal...DON'T DO IT. my tuner charges 100 for a tune (plus dyno time, 50 bucks) if you already have a chip or handheld. that means (f your guy has a similar rate) you're paying 3-400 for a NITROUS installation. n20 installations are dirt cheap compared to that..probably like 50-75 bucks...or you can do it your self, learn a lil about your mustang..and when it works, you'll have the sense of pride that YOU did it

$300 flat charge for the dyno tune usually he charges $350. That's two tunes N/A and N2O both custom dyno-tunes. Obviously he's going to tune both for optimum performance. I already have a chip from him but all it has on it is the correction for my gears. He's giving me the switch to be able to swap tunes on the fly. And the most important part to me is he's the best tuner in California and one of the best in the country. He races himself and doesn't tune for numbers like a lot of guys. He tunes for a good stable safe set-up.

By the way if you can find me a place to install a nitrous kit for $50 please let me know. Average labor rates in california for ASE guys are $65 an hour.

300 bucks for a tune with no chip/tuner??? wtf? find a different one dude. price doesnt mean quality. the guy I'm using is a BADASS tuner (sn on evry board is "sambandit") people all the way from Cali come to get tunes from him. 100 bucks a tune plus dyno time ($50 for 3 runs)

here's how much it should cost:

n20 install - 100 bones (roughly, at most)...or FREE it's not THAT hard!
tune - 150 buckaroos
SCT 7 position switch - 30 bucks
that all equals....280 bucks!

well say jon...what if i want more dyno time?

no problem! 50 bucks...3 more pulls...your still at 330 dollars. that's nearly 200 dollars cheaper than what this guy is offering (scamming)

****, it would be worth it to drive to CO and get tuned by Scott @ Mile Hi (like many have before)

and imagine if you installed it! thats like 180 bucks and your done!

but if you insist on overpaying for something...this would probably the thing to do it on

Maybe you're not understanding the point of there being two tunes being done here. I think it's great you have a guy in colorado you have so much trust in. But RET has done basically all the so cal terminators, almost all of my club LAMC, and countless others. I know him personally and know he's not scamming me. You have great prices but please break it down assuming there are TWO tunes being done here.

And it is hard, well harder, to install nitrous if you're hiding every wire, solenoid, and hose.

I'm pretty sure he can do it. It doesn't sound that hard but I would rather watch the first time and learn that way. This is my DD and I can't afford for it to be down so I guess I'll "over pay."

that was a really dumb comment. installation won't blow your motor...the tune will (a/f n all that) ... sure you can screw up installing it and something that you screwed up causes an improper funtion to happen (or a function not to happen) which could lead to a blown motor...but nothing directly...as long as you take your time and make sure everything is how it should be...on installation it should be fine....now if you did something like...run a 150 shot w/o getting a tune...then you can say by to your motor...

i think i was misunderstood.....this guy is saying "IF YOU INSTALL IT YOURSELF, YOUR MOTOR WILL BLOW UP"

and I'm saying "sure, if your not careful, something COULD happen, which MIGHT lead to blowing your motor, but it doesnt have to happen"

Um, you realize that he said that jokingly and it actually has a "hidden" meaning. Obviously he didn't mean it literally. Eh whatever it's too late for me to explain comprehensive reading...

Its not hard to mount a bottle, run a nitrous line, mount two noids, drill a hole in the intake put the nozzel in, run the fuel and nitrous lines to the nozzel tape the fuel rail for fuel suppley and then wire it. Its very simple. If you have done any car work before and can wire things its very simple.

If your not comfortable to do it yourself then get it installed. But your not gonna blow your motor from installing it yourself. They come with good direcetions with most any kit on the market to help you along the way. PLus you have all of us who have done it to help you too.

have a little pride and do your own work. IMO its half the fun doing your own work isntalling stuff being proud of what you've accomplished. N20 is not a hard mod to do.

At least ask him how much it would cost for just a tune, and then weight the costs.
