I understand what you are saying, but I would be willing to bet that the big majoriy of scholarships open to all races still go to white kids.

The reason some of companies or people give out a black only scholarship is because it gives more black kids a chance to go to college when they wouldnt otherwise. I guess i dont see the harm in that.

 

apples to oranges. We all have a different look on things depending on how/where we grew up and our cultures. No matter what anyone says...The United States of America, or rather the whole world, will never be equal no matter what anyone says IMHO. There will always be someone out there with more/less than you and there's nothing we can do about it.

 

OH MY GOD, I have been talking about the same thing since i was a senior in highschool looking for scholorships! Its wrong plain and simple.

As a minority, if somebody said "no you cant have this job because you are "blank" you would be pissed! you would sue! as you should, that is wrong!!!!!

so how is it right for somebody to do it to someone that is in the majority?


AA is fighting rasicm with rasicm. . . which is just the wrong way to go about it.

The way economy works is good enough to make things equal.

If company A. Hires a person just because they are white . . even though they are stuipid, they are at a disadvantage because now they have an inferior employee. Comany B. hires that minority that is SMARTER and BETTER because they will be a valuable asset. Company B will do better then company A.

THAT ALONE IS ENOUGH.

Oh there will never be a white history month or a white entertainment television because of this, it would get tourn to shreds.

Man i am so angry just thinking about this.

Oh yea, I have to agree with the Black History month thing, whats the point...and yes, we should eliminate the race thing on applications and stuff, it shouldnt matter.

 

I'm a huge fan of BET and i'm actually watching it as i type. Most of the shows on BET were on Major Networks at one time. BUT didn't get any spin becuase that's not what NBC fans or ABC fans or CBS fans want to see becuase most of it's viewers can't relate to the situations which isn't a bad thing. I don't watch anything I can't get a kick out of and i don't expect others to either. There are people that can tho. BET is exactly what it is....black entertainment. Not black ONLY entertainment. Just something we can relate to and possibly others who enjoy these shows. It just happens to be on a black owned black run channel.

 

Its all human nature, we all have a built in prejudice whether its caused by how we grew up or fear of the unknown. Some of us have this prejudice to a greater degree than others to the point where it interferes with making a sound judgement.

We all like to hang around with people that are like us. In this fourm it happens to be about mustangs. Living in S FL I often think latinos are a majority but this is far from the truth as what you think reality is often times is just what your reality is relative to your enviroment. When I head up to North FL or Deep South I get the bad vibes by whites and non latin blacks. I known this is due to them feeling like a minority down here with a heavy population of immigrants. My sister is biracial and her husband a non hispanic black with A University of Miami degree has had a hard time getting a job worthy of this BA,could be due to not being fluid in speaking spanish.

Its enough that most of us get some form of racism in the world that there should be a place where we could be free of that and the place called is Mustangboards. Discussions of race does not belong here and if you want to discuss this feel free to but somewhere else. We are all the same but different let us talk about our passion which is the Mustang. Dont let the numbers below discourage anyone on this site . You are 99.9% of the majority on this site that agree that Mustangs are the best. We all know who the .1% are a Honda and a bowtie lover.
