springstang....i used to have the super 40's with an slp o/r xpipe. I wasn't a big fan though, kinda stock sounding nothing really ear catching. So i switched to loudmouth and i fell in love. By the way, i have slp longtubes, slp o/r xpipe, and slp loudmouth catback...im pretty sure i know what loud is with this setup. Also, Flowmaster wanted me to tell you thanks for being the 10000000000000000 mustang owner to have flows on!!!!

i've had flows on my car forever with an offroad x and i love the sound. so does everyone else who hears it. it definitely has plenty of tone to it. was a bit raspy when i first put on the x pipe but i put on a 90mm mafs and took out some of the rasp and deepened the tone a lot more. honestly though i've been thinking about changing my exhaust for a while now maybe something like borla but i havent heard too many vids or sound clips of that so i dunno yet.

You said that you're gonna weld the muffler right where the resonators were right??? Aren't the flowmasters inlet and outlet pipes offset? Meaning the inlet is on the left and the outlet is on the right of the muffler. If you got the SLP mufflers, the inlet and outlet pipes are centered. You might have a tough time fitting these mufflers in where the resonators are now. Also doing this very well might cause your tips to get crooked and slant either inwards or outwards as well. Just make sure you check everything before you well them.

you would think so right? nope, I talked to a guy who did the same swap as me, and he got the flowmasters with the centered in, and centered out. HORRIBLE fit, the guy who welded it had to do alot of fabrication to get them to fit. Then he got the same style mufflers, with center in, offset out....the fit was still bad. So he told me to get offset in, and offset out

I have the same mufflers (original 40's) Flows are a little quieter in the low rpms but scream at wot. I dunno why everyone disses on flows, I think they sound better than 90 % of the other muffs out. With an uncatted x, you will still have a little raspieness b/c of the chambered muffler, but your idle will sound low as hell, deep and smooth. Good choice!
BTW: H + flows = sexy.

Mustang Exhaust is an age thing:

Under the age of 18 = Flows

18 - 25 = Mags

Real men = SLP

Its to bad that B&B doesn't make a cat back for the 99-04 year mustangs. I had an SVT Focus before my GT, and that catback is pure quality. (They just made one for the 05-06 however).

O RLY? Actually you are wrong, Borla DOES make MULTIPLE catbacks for the 99-04 GT, Mach 1, and Cobra...
Here they are for the GT and mach1

matter of preference. I like my SLP's but everyone has their own opinion. I have the SLP II mufflers though, not the SLP I ones. And my x is catted. She has a nice deep tone, to me atleast.

You and I have the exact same set up! I love it! I was thinking about going O/R and trying to gain a little more HP but noticed that you actually went catted. Was the O/R just way to loud?? with the LT's?
