Springstang, I thought the same thing as you too. My dad owns a 2003 vette and he has about 5,000 miles on it. Do the math, he babies it. He uses a multi-stage wax called Zaino. I'm sure some of you guys have heard of it. Its about 80 bucks. The other day I was waxing my mustang with Meguiars Gold Class wax, which is supposed to be amazing. It went on alright. My dad said "Brandon I'll do half your hood with my stuff then you do it with yours." So I let him, and there was a significant difference. The Zaino product really filled in fine scracthes a lot better, and no joke, in the sun its like having the sky on your hood. So hands down, if you're going to a cruise, car show, or mustang meet, I would definately get some Zaino for those days, its well worth the money.

I used zaino the last time i detailed my car which was close to 2 months ago at the start of summer and my car looks like i put it on yesturday. I ordered the full kit and i will probably never use anything else again especially store products. Tutrle wax is good to get a high gloss shine in one easy day but you are not removing any scratches or anything unless you prep it real good first.

Buy a can od PS215 and you will crap your pants. Seriously, the car will look like wet paint.
Waxes either generally shine great, or last a long time. Usually, they never do booth.
I used PS215 as a topper on my stang, but it is a complete waste of time on my van or Suburban. The shine lasts about 2 weeks tops, but it takes me about 15 minutes to wax the entire car as the stuff goes on soo easy.
I use a three step about 3 times per year and a 12 - 15 step process over the winter. Anyone who has seen my car in person can attest to having one of the deepest, blackest cars on the road. Yet, my paint is far from perfect.
By the way, the 12 - 15 step process is as follows:
1 - wash with dish soap
2 - clay bar
3 - wash with dish soap.
4 - Sonnus paint cleaner
5 - Klas Sealer
6 - Klas Acrylic
7 - 15 - PS215
That is right, 8+ coats of PS 215. It usually takes me 2 - 3 weeks as I do the job whiel the car is parked and cover it between coats. The KLAS products actually need to set for 24 hours anyway and the Acrylics are a real pain to buff.
