yet, at least. i still have a surprise toy i want to buy in the next week or two as well as a 47-52in lcd tv.
i've been sleeping on a twin size since, well, FOREVER! keep in mind i'm 6'1" i had to stop having my gf/wife (same person) sleep over because it was too uncomfortable to sleep on our sides the whole night, plus she's a ******* bed hog.
a little less than a grand latter, i have this dime:
$600 - sealy queen bay island memory foam mat
$120 - lumber from lowes
$140 - sheets + comforter
oh, also painted my room seaside vacation blue (gay name), some trim for the roof (going to replace carpet, floor trim in future), new curtains + hangers (another window directly across from the other one).
i thought of the bed design in the shower, where every genius idea comes from, obviously. building the bed took about 6 hours over two days.
here's the parts list:
instead of having a lip for the cross members to support the center of the bed, my dad decided it would be a time saver to buy 2x4 joist hangers, which did save a **** load of time. the inside construction, after cutting the 2x4's to size took about 20 minutes. the center is sunk in about 1/4in so a board could be placed over them to distribute the weight more evenly.

And you guys obviously don't live together. How they hell were you sleeping on a twin bed. My god. My wife and I just got a king bed a few months ago and now we can't see how the hell we slept on a queen with 2 dogs for so long.

nice man! I just moved into a queen from a full size and it is worlds better both for when the GF is staying the night and length. Its nice not touching both ends of the bed when I would sleep straight...or try to.
