Default You Ever Get That Itch?

I feel like I've been driving the same car since I was 15.

I've been getting that itch for something different. Like a black 03-04 Cobra, haha.

DO IT !!!! Its human nature for things to get old. I think everyone has a little of the "bordom" with everything in their life.

Usually when you get the itch for something different, you end up with a different kind of itch.

There are some things that I still have planned for it that will require me to keep it around for a bit. I am going to do a torque arm, and Koni dual adjustable dampers, I'd like to get some Cobra mirrors. If I come into some money I'll do full exhaust and a little work on the engine (dreams of aluminum 4V). I need to get a racing seat, harness, new SA helmet, and some other saftey things done to the car.

I've already got my sights set on Eagles Canyon Raceway outside Dallas/Ft. Worth this fall.

Definitely! I've been getting the itch to get a black 03/04 Cobra also...only reason I'm fighting my temptations is because 1) I don't want payments right now and 2) I have a 'descent sized' turbo waiting at the shop. I know once I install the turbo I'll never want to get rid of my car, but waiting for it is what is killing me! lol

Ugh, yes! My first car was a 1995 mustang v6, then I got the 2003 Mustang GT. I decided it was time to get something different and I was debating on a 03/04 cobra for awhile but wanted to wait a bit. I decided on the 11 GT because I realized I was so tired of the interior and I do a lot more daily driving these days.

I definitely have the itch to get a new daily. Our civic is boring as hell to drive everyday. However, only having 1 car payment right now is awesome. Both my daily and the Mustang have been paid off for for a while now. I'd take an '11 GT as a daily for sure!

When I get the itch I just buy something new for my car and it keeps me occupied. LCA's and a new clutch are coming soon!

Coming from one the old men on this forum. I'm an old school hot rodder since I was a teen. My first car was a 68 GTO. 400 CI. with a muncie 4 spd. That car was crazy fast for a 16 yr old and I whooped up on a bunch of classmates with chevelles, camaro's, and mustangs. Also got whooped a lot of times too. I've owned 2 Camaros. a 69 camaro, I didn't keep her long. My 1st new car was a 79 Z-28. I over reved a few times racing and had to rebuild her. I put a better cam and some new exhaust and drove it till I got tired of it in 1989. Got married in 1992 and drove a truck till 2004. Got my stang then and itch was scratched.

Sorry to be so long winded, But in the 10 years I went without a car with some power, I had recurring dreams of the cars I had. The dreams are still there sometimes but at least now I've got a nice car with some power again.. Not as much as I would like, but enough to scratch the itch..

Right after I bought my 04 GT and my 1st service being done, they had an 04 Cobra with 300 miles on it. Dude sold it back to the dealer cause his insurance was more than he could afford. Salesman tried his best to talk me into a trade.

I inquired him by e-mail that I'd be interested. And was immediately halted by my wife that how can I afford a New Cobra, while going through a divorce at the same time..

LOL. No Cobra for me. Gawd, it was Torch Red too. Cherry as hell. Salesman told me my payments (for the car) would have been the same. But that was in 2004.

My itch got scratched a lil bit right then. I guess I'm lucky to have a GT..

I don't think I have ever gotten the itch that you guys are talking about. This is my first car and have had it for like 8 months. I always wanted a mustang since I was 13 and that's when I started saving money for it. I remember every birthday I asked for straight up cash from my parents toward my car fund and I never really had the new gaming consoles or anything like that, but **** I love my car and I am really glad I saved. Although I wouldn't mind having a Termi body on the GT, not quite sure about the engine and tranny swap yet. I guess I will figure that out later on, but college bills coming up in August aren't going to help any.

For your 1st car, you did great. You won't get the itch if you take care of it. Me I destroyed the motor in my 1st car (68 GTO). And other cars came and went. I kept my Z-28 for 10 years, no itch then. only when I drove a truck for about 10 more years did I feel the need for a car with some good performance, and I 'm happy now. Cept I've be wanting a cruising bike lately. Don't know where that came from.. not a speed rocket, but just a cruiser..

Thanks, the one thing I have a soft spot for is modding. I just can't seem to go very long without adding something or another. You should get a bike, my dad had a Gold Wing a few years back and he definately had fun with it. I have been thinking long and hard about buying a motorcycle, but I will end up with a sport bike if I get one.

Another month is going to seem like an eternity, but it will make the wait so worth it. As for your friend with the turbo neon, kick their *** with the 5.0 for me and we'll see who's car is superior. I honestly don't even think the turbo'ed 2.4 has a chance.

I hear ya on that, but not getting rid of my toys. I should have a 03-04 Cobra by the end of the Summer. I've been trying to get one for a few months now, but decided to wait.

I figured out, that all I need to do is drive the girlfriend around in her Eclipse to realize how great the Mustang is. She wants a newer F-150/250 though, which would be great for me. I got a buddy who has a jeep and a '02 Z28 camaro. The jeep is slow as hell and he uses it for work,.I've driven his drunk *** around in it a few times. Makes the Camaro feel like a rocket.

I wish I could feel the same way about my baby. :/
It's complicated for me, but I'm still getting the Cobra and not selling my baby.
I drive my SUV, makes me want my Mustang bad.
I drive my Mustang, makes me want my Crotch Rocket bad.
haha I can't ever win.

Yeah pretty much, in ways. It's kind of hard to explain, I have 2004 Dodge Durango V8 5.7 Hemi, which is a pretty good amount of power, but boring. It's too big, sounds like **** (normal sound), Automatic (hate em) and maybe other stuff. My Mustang is still a little slow, but I love how loud it is and it's a stick.
Now for the Crotch Rocket, it's pretty fast, but I don't really go fast on it a lot, well I take off fast to get up to speed, but I always do that. Maybe 5-10 over the limit, standard. The bike is just sexy, fun to ride, better MPG, smaller, manual, funnier, and I love the sound of Crotch Rockets. Plus gotta add the corner carving, twisties, people watching you, people staring at you ect... Plus the girls; D

Either way I'm still after a 03-04 Cobra.
Then I want a Twin Tubro Supra and Ducati 1198 and/or a Hayabusa 1300R
