Default Out with the Lightning, in with the ???

Thats right, I may be a traitor. The lightning was nice but got offered this and had to take it. Its a 1999 Camaro Z28 6 speed car with 84,000 miles. T-tops, full slp exhaust, including long tube headers, procharger p1, dual intercoolers, bbk intake and throttle body. I've always heard good things about LS motors but I'm sold now. This thing would run circles around my mustang or the lightning. Its definitely quick for a small 8lbs of boost. I still like mustangs, but I like the camaro as well. Just trying out something different. Here's some pics.

I'm not surprised it faster then the mustang was. You had a bolt on car didn't you? And now you have a full bolt on and Procharged ls1, that is a big difference in cubes and power.

Video?

Agree. ^

It's a decent looking car, but I still prefer the L.. And honestly, your GT looked better than both. I'm not surprised that you didn't mention the interior at all, because compared to the Mustang.. Well, there is no comparison. The Camaros/Firebirds had the speed, but lacked pretty much everything else.

Man that was a tough trade.. I don't think the camaro will sell for as high as ur truck wouldve. But I'd say its faster than anything uve ever owned..

In terms of performance youve went up.

In terms of value I think you went down.

But as long as your happy, its all that matters. That LS1 will take a beating for many years.

Mustang was full bolt on, vt stage 2 cams and vortech blower. This car would eat it no question.

Evan,
I do believe the fact that the truck is worth more, but it had a few issues with it that I just didn't want to fix (the main one being the digital odometer stopped working and while the computer was still keeping the mileage without being able to display and prove the mileage, you cant trade the truck off to any dealer or individual for that matter except for this guy who knew and didn't care). The door locks didn't work, and the passenger door had a bunch of bondo and the whole truck had been repainted, and it was not a good respray. I did wet sand and buff a lot of it out, but it most definitely needed another respray done right to be worth what it should be worth. It was a good driver truck or a 10 footer you could say. I wouldn't dare take it to a car show, but you guys cant see that in the pictures I post, nor would I let you
Like mentioned, at the end of the day, its what makes me happy and the truck was nice but wasn't getting the job done because of all the work it needed that, well, that I just don't have the time to do at the moment or for a while given I have another project car I'm working on.

The interior of the camaro is kinda blah, but I've got some Carbon fiber fabric from Pyspeed and I'm going to wrap some stuff in it to help it out. I don't hit the car shows much anymore, so I really just wanted something that will get up and go when someone's wants to mess around and thats exactly what I got.

My mustang probably was the best looking that I've had because I built it from the get go and did all the paint work on it, I cant argue that point.

Not sure, don't have a dyno sheet or been to the track yet. Just had the car a few days. Looking around on different sites hp should be at least 450 at the wheels. I've got a friend with a stage 3 steggy 03 cobra. I'm going to run him and see what happens just for fun.

And for everyone who thinks its ugly...its cool, everyone likes different stuff, if everyone owned mustangs the world would be boring.

That's a great looking Camaro man! The list of mods sounds like it'd be a really fun car to drive. Exactly what I'd do if I ever had one. I'd take of the tail light tint and dump the exhaust to get rid of those tips. How well does the Camaro handle compared to the Mustang?

In my opinion, i would imagine the camaro hanging a little bit better because they have the engine shoved back into the cockpit of the car. But it seems like its alot longer and more narrow than a mustang. So it kinda conflicts.

I havent ridden in a camaro, because I havent seen one in good enough shape to be seen in. Hes lucky to have a clean one.

To be honest I think the 4th Gen camaro's look pretty cool, nothing like an edge mustang, but cool. I do hate that front bumper though... It just looks empty. And the car itself looks too plain, it needs some other color to contrast it a bit, like the black on the back. Just my opinion though, if you like it power to ya
And +1 on finding a clean camaro, all the ones i see are beat to hell

Its seems to handle about the same. Yea, something is going to get done with the exhaust, just not sure what yet.

If you ever saw my mustang you would know that I like plain, I think the more plain and simple the car is, the cleaner and better it looks. I don't want this car to stand out, I want everyone to think its just another z28 with wheels.........

And as far as a video, I need to get ahold of a video recorder, don't have one at the moment. If I make one, I'll be sure and post it.

I don't like stuff that sticks out to much either... just something to make it a little different thats all. Even something as small as painting the camaro part of the bumper black would make it pop a little and break up the constant color of the front part. It would be something that only a select few would notice, those are the changes I like.

There is actually a black insert that goes in the front bumper that will cover all that so it will break the color up, just waiting on it to arrive so I can paint it and install it.

Ls1's...those dont need boost to be fast, you're cheating.

I actually almost bought one before I got my mustang. I like it the wheels. The 4 tip exhaust needs to go and I'm glad your going to fill that huge empty space on the number.
