Haha, thanks. The 5D is a beast, but $2,500 for just the body..**** that noise. I'm not a professional photographer and not looking to make a living out of it so I don't need the best of the best.

Oh, and nice camera Pee! What are you going to film?

Cars, gun shooting, random shenanigans. I want to take film production in the fall so I'll probably do a short film or two. I can't really do anything fun until I get my desktop fixed, my laptop isn't capable of working in premiere =\.
My buddy already bought it lol, as soon as I mentioned buying a camera he was all over it.

Sure man, whenever you want to get some pics (and vids, haha) taken let me know. It'll have to wait though...my brand new goddamn SDHC card failed.. I have to RMA it with newegg but I'm going to request a refund because people are having the same problems and I don't want an unreliable card.
Also rma'ing BOTH hard drives tomorrow and hope to have my desktop ready once this semester is over, then I can go all out with using premiere.
Before the card died I was able to play with the video for a bit; here's a still shot of a 42 second video that was in 1080P @ 30fps, this was in my room with pretty low light, ISO was at 6400 and the frame exposure was probably around 1/30sec at this point. I resized it to 66% size so it wouldn't be huge. No color correction or editing or anything, straight off the camera.

Not bad! Looks damn good for an SLR video. I played with the D5000 the other day and liked it a lot.
Need to upgrade my camera as well so that's on the summer list.
Definitely get that mic. Can't tell you how many customers come back to work complaining because the sound quality blows....after I tried to tell them to buy the ******* mic. People...

Hahaha, thanks. It is, made in October 1943 by Springfield Armory. Has some Italian-made Beretta replacement parts on it because it was shipped (along with hundreds of thousands of other Garands) to the Danish army after WWII, but it's been around. It's my baby, buying another one this year that's in better shape.
I've also got a 1943 Inland M1 Carbine, but in Korean-era dress, not WWII.
These pics were off the T2i so it's not off-topic.

Being a patriot is never off-topic haha. Awesome rifles man, really. Excellent shape both of 'em. I'm in the service and know plenty of people who would kill to have those beauties, including me. No pun intended haha.
