Default My 2002 Convertible Mustang

This is my pony. I wanted to make it unique so I went with Gold Racing Stripes. They were hard to find buy I finally found a supplier and put them on a week ago. Also on the car are smoke headlights and smoke taillights. Headlights were easy to put in but I don't understand why the screws for the taillights had to be so difficult to get out. Nevertheless I got those in. I also put the rocker stripes on and the bumper inserts.

(One of the back stripes is crooked and I am aware, fixing it tomorrow. I hate vinyl.)

I haven't done any performance mods yet but I intend to. Starting with a limited differential so I can do burnouts. Then I'll move on to some engine stuff like cold air intake, throttle body, etc. Going to get a tuner too. Of course all of this comes as soon as I get the $$$.

gold has got to go. and save your mod money for a supercharger, turbo, or nitrous and a tune.

I'm trying the old "if you've got nothing nice to say" approach, but... Just because something hasn't been done, doesn't necessarily mean that it should be.. The color scheme could potentially look ok with some different wheels/tires and if the car was slammed... IDK.. I just really dislike racing stripes and Mustangs, especially on anything pre '05.

Mustangs are all about personal taste though, so if it fits your style, so be it!

I think it doesn't look half bad.All you need to make a sweet car imo is, lowered, rims, mach1 grill, chin spoiler, and go all the way with the stripes, like the front bumper doesn't look done.

I dont mind the white/gold combo at all.......

The one thing I dont like (and Im surprised noone else mentioned it yet) is the tail lights.

But yeah, some rims would make it so much better.

Not slamming here by any means, but your car is pretty dirty. Tires need a real good scrubbing, and if you'll look at some of the other stangs here, there are plenty of things you could have for dressing up. couple hundred bucks and mostly DIY stuff. But Welcome to the boards, I quit posting pics because there is always a better looking Car than yours. And also IMHO, all the members who dive a 3.8L 6 cylinder, ( and there are a lot of them on here) great fellers, well known, offer great advice, have beautiful mustangs, and we generally just love them to tears, Don't get the respect that they deserve. I think it's like that in the towns everyone lives too. Oh it's just a V-6 Phhh. Now there's a GT, or a Mach1, or a Cobra. OOh that's nice.. Just the way it is..

Anyway clean her up a bit a post some more pics...

Yeah I got the car 4 months ago so it's still a work in progress. I am going to get some rims soon but as I posted in the V6 forum I want to get the back axle fixed so I can do burnouts. That is the most annoying thing about it right now. Do chin spoilers really make a big difference? I was looking to buy one I just didn't think it would enhance the image much. And yeah I am going to go down the rest of the front bumper with the stripes. It is just a pain to do.

Chin spoiler does make a good difference actually. And is yours an automatic or standard? Might think about changing gears same time you get the t-loc

It looks nice. U've only had the car 4 months so u got a good start. Make the car the way u want it and u don't have to do all the things others do 2 their cars. Just as long as ur happy with what u do then thats all that matters.

Unfortunately it is an automatic. When I bought the car I was ignorant and didn't think the transmission would make a difference but it does. What do you mean by changing gears?

He means getting a dif gear. like 4.10s. when you put the possi in you might as well do the gears at the same time. they will help your Acceleration

Oh yeah right. Well right now I am looking to replace the whole rear end because I don't think I have the ability to replace the possi and gears by itself. I like the one on AM but they don't even have an instruction guide!

By the way I need some insight on what rims to get. Considering the color scheme of my car is white, gold, and black (if you count headlights and taillights) what color rims should I get. Style as well.

Thanks guys!

Yeah, the chin make it look so much more complete on the car.

You can do burnouts easily with your car how it is right now. I have an 02 auto V6, too. Just press the middle button in front of your shifter to turn traction control off, hold the brake, slam the gas, and there you have it! They will be one wheel wonders, but it still looks cool lol. One time I got both wheels spinning somehow, idk how the hell I did it.

I agree with the said statement ..... mustangs are about personal taste.

I tried to be unique with my car and some liked and some didnt.

The guy has had his car for 4 months... he probably only has a blurry idea of where he wants to take it. Once the image clears up, it'll come together, no doubt.
Plus, once he does one thing, he'll realize he needs to do another...

Foncarelli, I dig the top pic. The horse is a little much for me on the bottom pic, but I am middle aged and kinda stodgy... were I to see it in a parking lot, I'd look at it and think it was cool as hell, but too much for me.

I think with the right wheels and stance it would look cool, and be different.
