20% bad time to take pics of tint I know, but overall I think the tint looks good not to dark not too light, especially because the law in ohio is 50%. but i move to florida at the end of august so it's all good.

 

thats what i have and in jersey we cant have any tints where i live but the 20% is dark enough for me.. looks great

How much did you pay just to have the rear redone?

 

I paid out the *** to get mine done by the dealership. I don't know if other places offer lifetime warranties but the dealer did, so I went there. They ended up doing a spectacular job on my '09. Not nearly as dark as I would like but it complies with state law and the back window is NOT one huge piece of tint! They have like 25+ strips leaving a perfect gap around the rear defroster wires. Looks really cool and gives an almost louvered look at night when light shines through the back

 

Mine is just one huge piece of tint in the back. I'd rather have that instead of the 25+ pieces. That will be a sonuvabitch to deal with if you ever have to have your rear window redone.

 

Did they say why they did it that way? I was wondering if the defroster could cause the tint to bubble.

 

I'm not entirely sure, I only got to talk to the ignorant guys at the service desk, the real work was done by the smarter guys in the make-ready department.

I was kinda worried about the tint on the defroster wires from the start so I asked the service desk guys when they were showing me how good it looks and they pointed out that the wires aren't covered by tint and the matrix border on the windows can't be tinted.

They didn't say whether or not it would cause bubbling if they even knew and I was too happy with the quality to care

 

the dot matrix on my stang is not tinted, which you don't notice unless you are inside the car. and mine was also tinted in one big sheet

 

Like I said, my whole back window is tinted, defrost lines, dot matrix, the whole works. The matrix border can be tinted if it's done right. My windshield, dot matrix and all is tinted and it is just fine. It isn't coming up the slightest bit.
