Default FINALLY got me a stang!! let me know what you think.

just copying my posts from my local forum.

1996 gt 5speed vert.

so here's a quick pic i snapped this morning when i got to work. let me tell you this thing is clean! specially for a 13 year old car. the leather was reconditioned and damn near looks new. has mach sound, interior, engine bay are clean, new clutch, shifts and pulls nice, paint is nice, only a few minor dings. this car is cleaner and runs better than all of the 99-02's i've test drove. i had to work today and i'm headed out tonight so i'll get better pics up tomorrow but here's a preview. soooooo many plans for this car. i've got a hook up on some cobra r wheels too so i'll be getting them hopefully by next month. i've got one more payment on the focus and it will remain my dd and the stang can stay garaged.

ok, snapped a few new pics. cleaned the garage a little and parked her in the garage. the focus will have to sit outside for now. i'm gonna clean the garage more wed on my day off, change the oil in the stang and give it a good cleaning. then i'll get some better pics with under hood shots and all. here's a few for now. the cobra bumper was just a thought, but the hood is a def if there's no fitment issue there. i love those hoods.

That's a beautiful car, and even though I hate tan, when it's that clean I can't argue!! Get those headlights replaced.

yeah the headlights are one of the first things i want to take care of. i've just got sooooo many plans i can't wait to get going on this thing. it's such a nice car i was amazed. when i went to look at it i didn't expect it to be in any where near this condition. i'm not a huge fan of the tan either, but the condition makes the dif for sure. plus i swear this model seems like 4 outta 5 had that tan interior. as long as i can keep it up it will be fine. if it starts to wear i'll consider an interior swap.

I really would like to get some headlights with the clear lenses and black housing. I think it would give a clean look. I just see the serious amout of potential in this car. I'll certainly be watching the for sale threads for used parts and such. Lol

Looks like a nice car, I couldn't ever have a car with a tan interior/ top, just doesn't look good to me. I'm glad for you though, sounds like you've been waiting for a Mustang for a long time, congrats!

BTW: Looks like it's taken at least a small bump on the rear end at one point in time or another, the gap in the trunk/ tail light area points that out to me, my old '98 was very similar.

thanks, and i hope to get modding soon too lol. prolly within a month or so i'll really get going. wanna get some seat covers to protect the leather, and a car cover to keep her clean and safe when she's in the garage. then headlights, drop, roll bar, wheels and intake are prolly next in line.

You should dump the exhaust too, it looks sooo much cleaner with no tail pipes and will sound 100 times better too!

lol. yeah, i can see the $ drop too lol. i may be picking up a set of cobra r wheels next month from someone i know. 17x9 in front and 17x10.5 rear. should be a nice addition to the ride and give it a mean stance. then with a drop it should look really hot.

lol, well, i'm done with college and i'm 30, so i don't think that will be an issue. LOL that's why this is my play toy. i would welcome any suggestions on what i can do to this beast. nice mods that won't break the bank. i mean i have alot of plans for her, but my last stang was a 91 5.0 so i don't know a ton about the 4.6 or this year model. i'm just glad to have a stang once again.
