Default Waxed

The wife had to work all day yesterday so I decided to spend the day with the other thing I love in life.

Started out with a quick detailing of the interior. Vacuum, Meguire's interior cleaner and leather seat protectant.

Next a Dawn wash followed by Mother's clay bar. Lastly, a generous coat of Mother's carnauba wax. Cleaned up the mirrors, chin spoiler and honeycomb panel with back to black as well.

Didn't get any descent pictures it was way too sunny and I don't have a fancy camera. Here are a few I snapped none the less.

Looks good man. The rear pic makes me miss my bumper inserts. I need to get another set one of these days.

Thanks everyone

I'm a little upset though...just checked the forecast for the week and we are supposed to get rain everyday. I can't wait for a few more months to go by and we get the wife a new car and I get her civic.

Car looks awesome, but I have a few suggestions.

1) I'd put the pony back in, the grill looks too empty

2) Then I would get black bumper inserts. The silver ones look out of place.

But sweet looking ride in the end.

The paint looks great! I have to ask what happened to the "T" insert, though...

Looks great. Hell fof a job. Sucks about the rain, but hey now that it's been cleaned up nice and waxed, it will be a lot easier to clean once the rain stops.

Nice man. You should not use dish soap ps when washing your car. It will dry the rubber out on the car. Just use a clay bar and you will be good to go.

Thanks everyone for the compliments!

You were correct the "T" insert is just a weird reflection. Also the inserts are actually black chrome and not silver. I'll be getting another pony for the grill it was all screwed up so I took it out until I get the new one.

And Spike, I've always heard that using dish soap once or twice a year was okay before claying/waxing. That is the only time I use it. Maybe next time I'll just wash it normally before the clay/wax.

If you only use it to remove the old wax once a year it's fine. That's what I use.

The dish soap deal is a myth, there is no reason to ever use it on your car. Just clay the car and then polish and seal it up.

You can go to the dawn website and they even tell you not to use it on your car.
