Epic car...i wish i had 50k too...

King 04-07-2009 03:56 PM

There was a green one that still ran and was completely stock from the lot in 1970 in my town that was for sale for maybe $7500? I would've snatched that up if I could've afforded it. Just had faded paint...I'm pretty sure it had >100k miles too.

deputy2313 04-07-2009 03:58 PM

dang king you should have grabbed that

King 04-07-2009 04:05 PM

<<<--- Broke with a car payment already

deputy2313 04-07-2009 04:10 PM

i feel you there.

Mr. Zip 04-07-2009 04:20 PM

Mmmm. There's a reason Ford is a feared name. :P There's a guy in town here that is selling a restored 67 fastback for 21k that is killin me every time I see it!

Deathdiesel 04-07-2009 04:33 PM

Hmm whats a better car though, 1960-70 fasbtack or 2010 models?

King 04-07-2009 05:36 PM

First generation 60s-70s mustangs performance wise. Comfort wise, I say the new models.

The 67 fastback is my favorite all-time Mustang.

Deputy, I know where there is a super clean 69 Mach for sale for $30K. The 69's look a little meaner than the 70, with the four headlights and the quarter panel scoop just behind the door. I would gladly take either! The guy also has a 67 or 68 Shelby GT500.

3.8for the win 04-07-2009 06:07 PM

+1 67/68 are the all time best looking mustangs imo.

Leonide 04-07-2009 06:10 PM

either that place is charging way too much for it's cars and price gouging, or the prices for old cars like that is getting highly inflated. a huge turn off for me. i will stick to my car, thank you.

Deathdiesel 04-07-2009 07:00 PM

Yea, i gotta admit 50k for that kinda car seems really pricey. Considerin you can get a shelby for that price i believe.

PistonsFan102 04-07-2009 07:06 PM

I've seen nice ones restored for 20k.

I think prestige has had that car for sale for years lol.

Deathdiesel 04-07-2009 07:09 PM

Lol il admit its pretty sexy but not worth 50k

Hell yea, it is. I remember watching Barrett-Jackson a few years ago, and thinking - Holy shit! WTF are these guys smoking? 100K for that? I was thinking that they were totally ruinning any remote possibility of owning one in the future, as the prices seemed outrageous. I mean, if John Doe sees a 66 Fastback go across the block for 60K, he thinks his is a 60K car.

The fact is that the VAST majority of ALL those cars you see, the owner is losing money. Alot of those cars, you could not build it for what they sell for, and that is not considering any time and effort involved.

The classics that are un-molested, you're gonna pay for that too.
